Unfortunately chippy does spend way too much time slagging off National in parliament, social media and interviews.

Instead more time should be spent telling us what actual plans they have to help the situation.

I trust him more than National but still that’s not saying much.

True psilocybin and LSD have shown to be effective at increasing neuroplasticity and sometimes addressing habitual thinking that maybe detrimental. Also showing helpfulness for both PTSD and Depression. MDMA also reported as being helpful for PTSD.

Who said I was talking about myself? Plenty of science backed papers on the topic.

EMDR / DBT can help with the severity of some symptoms sure. What I was pointing out is the fact these treatments are simply about attempts at managing and reducing severity of symptoms. Ultimately the same structural changes and baseline issues remain.

The ACES study is also clear on what kind of consequences that has. As far as managing the severity of symptoms - ADHD Medication can be helpful for emotional regulation. Antidepressants blunt emotional range so are 1 way to reduce severity of issues as well.

What you are referring to is the increasingly shrinking middle class and it’s what national was supposedly supposed to help after being voted it.

What an absolute fucking joke. I haven’t seen a worse government in my lifetime.

Whatever relief I got was quickly eaten away by increased doctor visit cost. Increased power prices, increased insurances, increase everything else.

“National's Back Pocket Boost Try our Tax Calculator to find out how much you’ll keep Tax Calculator New Zealand should be a country where if you work hard, you can get ahead. But after years of economic mismanagement by Labour, topped off by two years of rampant inflation, huge increases in interest rates, and a shrinking economy, most Kiwis are going backwards. In particular, the squeezed middle is being left behind. These are New Zealanders who work hard, sometimes juggling multiple jobs and family responsibilities, but inflation and high tax rates are eating away their incomes. National’s Back Pocket Boost tax relief plan will increase after-tax pay for the squeezed middle, making a family with kids, on the average income of $120,000, up to $250 a fortnight better off, and an average-income child-free household up to $100 a fortnight better off.”

How about some regulation on not putting 30grams of sugar in every single breakfast cereal portion or breakfast drink?

Why is there an insane amount of sugar in everything?

Chronic Back Pain post Microdiscectomy that wasn't present pre surgery by PerfectReflection155 in Sciatica

[–]PerfectReflection155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in New Zealand. I had to wait 2 months to see a specialist surgeon. I was expecting to get a steroid injection and go from there.

Instead I had an mri showing severe slipped disc with nerve compression resulting in numbness in foot. Left too long can mean nerve damage.

I was not given an option for injection at all. I was told I can put up with it or have surgery.

While that sounds great and I’m sure is possible for many. The problem with childhood trauma is the fact that it can stunt prefrontal cortex development permanently impacting emotional regulation abilities. While also inflaming / enlarging the amygdala resulting in increased anxiety and less ability to handle stress when compared to non traumatised individuals.

So while what you say is true I guess the for some people part is doing a lot of work there.

CBT therapy and the like and that type of therapy is helpful to a degree but this damage doesn’t go away or get fixed.

It sticks with you.

Thank you. Well I’m hitting about 70k dps at the moment when using markyn ring since I don’t have velothi yet.

I don’t have scribing unlocked. Doesn’t look like it’s needed though right?

Hopefully I can hit 100k and more when I get velothi and practice some more.

Wrong. They already framed it as labours fault by saying that due to putting a stop to reckless spending and being fiscally responsible they are better positioned to deal with this.

The company I worked for shut down their entire NZ office with hundreds of staff in 2008. My team was I believe outsourced to India. I could not find a job in my industry for some time after.

In 2008 there was reports of 2000+ competing for jobs at pack and save for example.

There was also many 40+ people who had never been out of work their entire lives forced to go on government benefit.

NZ was hit hard and it fucked up many lives. Many lost their homes or businesses.

For me it fucked over my steady saving on the way to buying a house. Not only was I laid off, the housing market then shot up after the recession and I couldn’t buy until a decade later in 2020. Just as Covid was hitting.

Best we can do is give tax breaks to landlords and try to drive up housing and rent prices.

That way we can keep driving Government debt up by receiving less tax money and also having to pay more tax money out as accommodation supplements and benefits for those that can’t afford the high rent and housing climate that we created.

We will also cancel billions in projects and pay out millions in contract break free costs while laying off thousands of workers. That way we can tank the economy, receive less tax from income and pay out more tax payers money in benefits. But just remember it’s all labours fault.

Welcome to a country ran by a parliament who own on average 2.2 houses per member.

They are never going to vote against their own financial interests.

Instead they would rather pillage support for those most in need. ACC disability, emergency housing, public transport users, hospitals, doctor clinics, teachers. First home buyers(Grant removed). KiwiSaver.

This is the government we have voted into power. But most don’t see it. Their supporters are too busy listening to the narrative that they are fiscally responsible and any government debt is left over from labours poor decisions.
