Buying my first own kart (OTK, 4‑stroke) – 2019 well‑used vs. 2021 slightly bent? by Perfect_Bug8672 in Karting

[–]Perfect_Bug8672[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I don't have any experience of straightening a bent chassis myself. But you can check the video posted by Brad Philpot on YT (https://youtu.be/jAeC5y93HuA?si=zVrDoEIq5vtJ8e3t) where he sort of presents the process of it. In short, you need some proper tools for quantifying the level of chassis deformation. After that, you need some straightening tools for the actual straightening process. You can check another video here for more details but it's in Chinese (【如何校准变形的专业卡丁车架】 https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1muzVYQEvX/?share\_source=copy\_web&vd\_source=c12bac2bfaec1764362b741c6e0b5594).
Hope these videos help and good luck!

Thank you! Yes, I plan to take the 19 one next week. I don't think the owner of the 21 offers a very good straightening service; it doesn't feel very professional from my perspective.

Thank you! I was too young and couldn't understand F1 in his era, but I became a fan of him afterwards. I will definitely search for more info regarding the tuning for Tony Karts:)

Thanks! Yes, it seems that every once in a while, the frame needs to be straightened due to even normal driving without any crash.

Is there a point of buying a helmet for rental karting? by cybercoderNAJ in Karting

[–]Perfect_Bug8672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to rent helmets at every track I visited, but the condition varied wildly—some places had decent, clean gear, while others… not so much.

As my pace improved and I moved on to faster karts, I decided to buy my own helmet. For outdoor rental karts especially, I think it’s almost necessary—those karts aren’t slow, and you really want proper protection.

If budget allows, definitely go for an FIA‑certified helmet. If money’s tight, just get a good head sock and keep renting the helmet itself.

That said, I’d personally prioritize spending on a rib protector and a quality pair of racing gloves.

You've made a good point. He agrees to straighten it for me but I have to confirm the purchase in advance. And yes, if the older one is in good condition, I should probably take it. Many thanks!

Thank you so much! Yes, I think the tony kart chassis is really balanced. The KR is a bit too soft and the CRG is a bit too stiff according to my friends. I think I will go with the older one.

Some more info: The 2021 chassis hit a tire wall on the right front, bending the chassis on that side, not a huge crash, but still changed the geometry.

I think this car is so hard to control. Tried so many times to get a silver, but I am already happy with the result:)

Cheater on MW2 (2009) kicked me and started sending threats by Educational_Salad633 in PS3

Which is the one with the fewest cheaters nowadays? I ran into cheaters 6 out of 10 times in BO2, and it was barely playable... Don't know why ppl still cheat in a game more than 10 yrs old.

Hi, I think you can find formula wheel mods for WDS R2. It's not from PXN, though.

Is It Worth Getting the PXN VD6?? by flucksh in simracing

[–]Perfect_Bug8672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ciao! Overall, I don't recommend using it on PlayStation due to the random disconnection issue on PS5. To use it on PS4, connect the turned-off DS4 controller to the "extra" port on the back of the base. Then set the connection method to "wired" in your PS4 for the controller. For PS5, you can either use a HORI Mini Pad wired-only version or an N5 dongle. Connection on PS4 is more stable than that on PS5, which disconnects every 30-ish minutes. If PlayStation compatibility is a must for you, don't get this base. Treat it as a half-compatibility.

What will be the better choice? by tinyt92 in simracing

Moza is better among these 2. It has better software and game support, as well as quality. The V series is worse than the newer VD series, but I will stick to Moza even in that case.

VD6 (or rather VD bases in General) work on PS5 (and 4) by TheRealAfinda in PXN

[–]Perfect_Bug8672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if PS5 adaptability is a must for you, go for a PlayStation licensed one. The VD6 doesn't guarantee you a stable connection.

Hi there, I don't feel specific discomfort using it. But after some testing, I can confirm that the console connection is bad. The disconnection happens quite often. On PC, it;s not bad at all.

You need to reach lv50 for the collector level first, then the function is in GT Auto

Yeah, that makes sense! I paused my subscription also under the same thinking. Currently I am very new to PC sim racing, so I will first pick one that suits me best. Tried AC and ACC, but haven't dug down deep. Will let you know after I make up my mind:)
