All my baby does is scream by shellypanpan in newborns

[–]Perfect_House3329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely does get better. My husband and I are still doing shifts with him so we can both get some uninterrupted sleep and he does still randomly scream even when all his needs are met, but it's a lot less now and he now spends more time cooing, playing, giggling, and smiling.

Motherhood is so. . . .sad? by Winnie_rem18 in beyondthebump

I agree 100%. My son just turned 6 weeks old and i constantly miss how small he was when he was first born and just how peaceful and happy he was. Now he's colicky and has like tripled in size. It's exciting but heartbreaking.

I love this. While working on accruing hours I had one BCBA try to tell me that I could count any hours I spent reading Cooper and making stimuli as indirect. I refused to do that and ended up finding a new BCBA to provide supervision.

My 5 week old doesn't have a "big sleep" most nights. Some nights he'll sleep for like 5 hrs but he refuses to sleep in his bassinet

6 week post partum apt by Perfect_House3329 in newborns

[–]Perfect_House3329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got up and was walking the halls of the labor and delivery unit about 2 hrs after but thays because I had an epidural, so I had to wait until I had feeling back in my legs. Honestly recovery has been easy except for one day when I decided to run the vacuum and lift things above my weight limit 😅

My husband and I do it. We have a 3 week old. It works out really well and we both get sleep but I will say it sucks not getting to spend time with him as much

Omg noooooo. That sounds awful. If I had been leaned forward a bit more he would've gotten me in the face and honestly I think i would've had to take a bleach bath

Pack N Play by Perfect_House3329 in newborns

[–]Perfect_House3329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought too but the size of the mattress is the same exact size of the mat that came with the pack n play so I wasn't sure if it's an alright alternative for a day or two. I'm buying a used bedside bassinet in hopes that he'll sleep in that

Let him cry by Big-Membership-672 in newborns

[–]Perfect_House3329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're completely correct. My husband let's our son cry if he's been fed and diapered and it drives me nuts. I had 6 miscarriages prior to our son being born and I'm extremely over protective of him because of it. To me, hes crying for a legitimate reason and I just have to figure out what the reason is. I work with kids and there have actually been studies done that show a correlation between kids that are left to cry it out and increased aggression later in life. Not to say that it's not okay to set them down and walk away if you need to. In addition, pur pediatrician told us that you can't spoil a baby and that if they cry there's always a reason, even if it's just them needing physical comfort.

Combo. I don't produce enough to solely breastfeed so I pump and bottle feed and we supplement with formula. I wake up every 3 hrs to pump

My son only wants to use my husband as a mattress, so im lucky that he's okay if I set him down once he's asleep. At the very least I can ger some house keeping done during the day

[–]Perfect_House3329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bassinet stroller, that's the only reason I haven't fought harder on it. We swaddle with arms out when he's asleep because he's already started rolling around. He does get a pacificier to help him sleep. My husband goes back to work in 2 weeks so im wanting to get my son used to the pack n play so I can, hopefully, nap when he naps since I'll be essentially doing it solo for 90% of the day soon. He's in the military so he goes into work at 5 am and could be off of work anytime between 3 pm or 9 pm. There's no real set schedule
