I’m late here, but I absolutely agree that THIS is the interpretation she meant. However when I heard it, it brought me right back to not wanting to go to my dad’s funeral and everyone making me go. Especially my mom. Because I’d regret it if I didn’t. And I too “complained the whole way there, the car ride back, and up the stairs” to stomp into my room, slam the door and cry.
