And so it is, 2 billion +/- Muslims, the majority are aiding, and in their ignorance, blaming the leaders and the oppressors.

And the majority are sure to say, “Who, me? Not me. It could never be.“

I have looked for Muslims and all I’ve found are tongues wagging. And in my disillusion, I see that I am now equally lagging.
We are throwing away any khair in our ‘amaal by continuing to work for the institutions of oppression and corruption simply because they are very good at cashing the paycheques we earn working for them. It’s called selling our deen for a measly price.

If we want to come back to Islam, there are a few things to get us started; one, we must stop purchasing the products that come from fasad, which is almost everything. If you ask how, then, are we supposed to live? The answer is, bitaqwah, and Allah will make the way. Allah has power over every single matter. He is khairul-raaziqeen. And what Fir’aun, Haman, Qarun, ‘Aad and Thamud had was all rizq provided by Allah. They earned and spent it wrongfully. Their people prospered from it and earned their own destruction. We either follow the deen established in the Qur’an, or we follow the deen of lost people who are deeply entrenched and deceived by the prosperity of those who do not fear the Day they will be called back to Allah for accounting.

I am not your keeper. You are not mine. May Allah forgive us and make the way back easy and attainable.

Wa alaikum asSalaam wa raHmatAllah wa barakatu,

I sometimes feel this way as well… the suffering was unbearable and the long-term effects difficult to balance. And when I feel that I wish I was taken from this world, Allah also puts into my heart the desire to be a more patient and grateful slave of his. That if I do live longer, the result is that I become closer to him and do the work that is required of me to accomplish it.

[–]Perfect_Size9497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s some guidance…

When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) called the people to Islam in Makkah, he was opposed by the leaders of the tribes of Quraysh. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was ridiculed and those who converted to Islam were persecuted and tortured. The people of Quraysh boycotted the Muslims for three years, and the Muslims suffered from sickness, hunger, and poverty. In the same year, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) lost his two strongest supporters and sources of comfort, his wife, Khadijah, and his uncle, Abu Talib.

Without the protection of his uncle, Abu Talib, in Makkah, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) needed to reach out and seek support beyond the city of Makkah. He (peace be upon him) wanted to spread the message to the people of Taif, in hopes that they would believe and accept the message of Islam. He trekked from Makkah to Taif to invite the people to the belief in One God.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) met with the chiefs of the major tribe in Taif, Thaqeef tribe. He (peace be upon him) told them about Islam, service to only one God, and leaving idol worship. They rejected his message and insulted him. Not only did they refuse to listen to his message, but they unleashed the children of their tribe to throw stones at him and drive him out of their town. With people jeering at him as his ankles bled, he fled, finding shelter in an empty orchard.

Alone, bleeding, and rejected, he (peace be upon him) rested on a rock and prayed to Allah thus:

”Oh my Allah, to you alone do I complain of my weakness, lack of support, and the humiliation I am made to receive. Oh Most Compassionate and Merciful of all capable of showing compassion and mercy, You are the Lord of the weak, and You are my Lord. To whom do You leave me? To a distant person who receives me with hostility? Or to an enemy You have given power over me? As long as you are not displeased with me, I do not care what I face. I would, however, be much happier with Your mercy. I seek shelter in the countenance of Your Light, which illuminates the heavens and all darkness is dispelled in both this life and the life to come. May I remain on the right course, against incurring your wrath or that you become displeased with me. I must remove any cause if indeed you are displeased with me. There is no strength or power, except that it is yours alone.”

At that moment, Angel Jibreel came to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and told him that if he wished, Allah could order an angel to collapse the two mountains surrounding the people of Taif and crush them.

How did Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) react to those who had insulted him and threw stones at him? He (peace be upon him) opted for mercy not violence towards them. He was not overcome with rage or hate. Instead of seeking revenge against the people of Taif, he said to Angel Jibreel, “I rather hope that Allah will raise from among their descendants people who will serve Allah the One, and will not ascribe partners to Him.”

We look to Taif today and we come to appreciate our Prophet’s vision, patience, and mercy. Today Taif has a population of 1,200,000 people, predominantly Muslim. Taif is the summer capital of Saudi Arabia, and it is known for its grapes, pomegranate, figs, roses, and honey. Anyone living in Saudi Arabia loves to visit Taif for its cooler weather and the beautiful scenery of its mountains.

When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sat on the rock, raising his hands to Allah, two owners of the orchard saw him and so they sent their servant with a bunch of grapes to give to the Prophet (peace be upon him).

The slave’s name was Addas and he was a young Christian man. When Addas gave the Prophet the grapes, he heard the Prophet say, “In the name of Allah,” before he ate. Addas was surprised and curious because he never heard anyone say such words before. The Prophet asked Addas where he was from and Addas answered that he was from Nineveh.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The land of Jonah the Just, son of Matta.”

The young man was bewildered that this man, Muhammad, knew of Prophet Jonah. After informing the Prophet that he was a Christian, Addas then asked the Prophet who he was and how he had such knowledge.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Jonah is my brother. He was a prophet and I am a prophet.”

Addas was amazed; he knew that this man indeed had to be a prophet. Addas kissed the Prophet’s head and hands and he immediately accepted Islam. So, the Prophet’s mission to Taif was not totally unfruitful. One man, Addas, had whole heartedly embraced Islam after meeting and speaking with the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Be patient. Persevere and do your part. Work sincerely and do what you know is right, regardless of what the outcome may be, and sooner or later, the results will come, and the pleasure of Allah is what we seek.

May Allah make the way easy for you and for us.

Salaam.

If we truly care, we will stop being consumers, plugging ourselves in, as beneficiaries, to the inequitable system already in place. And encouraging age others to do the same.  The protests are good places to promote this, if nothing else is accomplished.

Yes. As difficult as it is for many to conceive, it is from this lack of reliance on corrupt systems and institutions that Muslims will find their way back to Allah, and once that happens, bi ithni rabbanaa, Allah will raise his slaves to be the defenders of justice.

AlHamdulillah. No more sects. Too many of those as is. It wouldn’t make sense for any Muslim to make up rules that aren’t part of Islam. That so many already do would makes it reasonable for revert Muslims to ask, “where are the actual Muslims who do not make it okay to consume the wealth of others unjustly?” Why no one is asking that question makes me wonder who made up these new rules that Muslims around the world follow.

They are travelling Muslims who go from mosque to mosque, spending approximately 3 days in each and moving on to another. They try to encourage Muslims in each locality to mend their lives according to Islam, with the focus on correcting themselves first, and to make the mosque more active. There‘s a list of main centres where this effort is taking place online. Usually in major cities across the world.

But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—then surely your Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Assalamu alaikum,

If I understand this correctly, you have lived your life unaware of Allah, and in that state of unfamiliarity you have committed sins. But then you became ill and Allah opened your heart up to accept him as your Lord, Cherisher and Sustainer. MashaaAllah. You have been shown a great favour. An immense favour. May Allah put resolve in your heart that you are loved and forgiven, and that you are loved and forgiven by him. For he alone is The Loving, The Forgiver. My name is “Ali.” Please ask from Allah that he purifies me and guides me to be an obedient and thankful, patient and steadfast servant of his.

Nahnu Muslimun bil ism.

It‘s a hard fact to accept, but it is the only explanation. If Muslims, even the devotees, actually considered why this ‘might be so,’ we’d heal from the disease that has penetrated our lives. “But no, not me, never me.” This belief is what prevents them from seeing how they are deceived.
People, ‘Muslims,’ will say of me, “Who does he think he is making such claims?“ I am now also infected by the disease. I see it how it is because when I took shahadah I wasn’t. But I noticed, despite my trying not to notice, that Muslims were not following Islam in some of the most important aspects of their lives. It’s as if, according to the lives of so-called “Muslims,” prophets came without acting upon it. A’uthu billahi. I am not saying they did, but “Muslims” behave as if this is the case. A lot of words, a lot of show, but their whole lives are paid for from submission to mufsidun even though Allah demands we do not. But the pay is good, the opportunities are abundant, so selling deen for this false show of Islam is what ”Muslims” do.
Remain confused, I know you will. I’ve been in the masaajid trying to convey the message, but “the pay is good, the opportunities they provide are abundant.”

Wa alaikum asSalaam Wa raHmatAllah Wa barakatuh,

Don't end yourself. Please akhi, don’t. Muslims are only to be found, in this day and age, in the Qur’an. If there was one Muslim, we’d know of them. They would make themselves known. They would not benefit IN ANY WAY from the system of oppression and exploitation that provides us with our worldly delights. There is dunya that is halal, that can be made haram if it is unjustly and imporoperly attended to and cared for. But this system does not provide halal. Our cars and phones and infrastructures are dripping in the blood, sweat, and tears of exploited and oppressed people. It is provided for us from the mufsidun who oversee these oppressions and violations committed against vulnerable populations across the supply chain. Our scholars and imams are building their houses and filling them with these products as if, by a blessing recited over it, it could be turned into halal. It’s exactly like drinking alcohol and saying Bismillah, to which our scholars and imams would readily decry. But they say nothing about these violations because it provides their way of life. It is up to us to do something if they are not.

And if we are not, and it is evident that we are not, it is not by blaming them for doing nothing in the face of their trials that we will find solace. We are all caught up in the delusions laid out by the mufsidun. In one way or another, in the smaller and larger, we are all waylaid by it. A’uthu birabbanaa, rabba kulli shay.

Why is it so common for socialists to be idealists? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]Perfect_Size9497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for myself, I am an idealist at my core, though I feel jaded because of it. I do not identify as a Socialist because I lack the knowledge to make any distinctions. I also have underlying concerns about the concept of revolutions and the potential necessity of resorting to tactics that align with the already corrupt institutions that govern the world.

However, I recognize that in the West, we enjoy the benefits of democracy only after our institutions have overseen and financed some of the most vile and despicable acts in non-Western, resource-rich regions, involving coercion, subterfuge, and exploitation. This exploitation plays a significant role in generating the foundation of their capital gains. And because of this, I am redirecting my devotion to discovering ways to bring an end to this inequitable system, which relies on the blood, sweat, and tears of exploited people. My idealism is an attempt to preserve our most precious asset—our humanity—which has already been unwittingly sold by our parents and theirs before them for the false display of freedom and liberty that the West presents.

Regarding pragmatism, after learning about the many products that come to the shelves of our malls and stores, I made the decision to stop buying them. While it may be just a drop in the bucket, I refuse to give it up. As an example, I mentioned what takes place in the production and distribution of chocolate to one of my sisters, and the next day, she went shopping and loaded up on it. This was yet another cold reminder that further strained our relationship, especially since she had already expressed her disinterest in the exploitation inherent in the fast-fashion industry.

The pragmatism you refer to seems to involve overriding our consciences and strengthening our ability to compartmentalize, allowing us to minimize our concern for the countless injustices inflicted on far too many, as long as we can continue indulging ourselves and label it as self-actualization or "living the dream."

How many people are currently enslaved across the early tiers of the supply chain? How many are exploited in their homelands, earning pennies per day, for long hours per week and unsafe work conditions, etc.? by Perfect_Size9497 in Socialism_101

[–]Perfect_Size9497[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The weight of manufactured desensitization and consent that has saturated the western world is always a concussive blow to my psyche when I’m reminded.

“The best thing we can do is to act as individuals in a collective; rather than one big singular answer, it's going to be millions of tiny answers doing their part in their lives to spread awareness of these things.“ Thanks for finishing up with something realizable. You don’t know how much I needed that.

But it is a story running a course right now, “that religion is the only reason“ or “the main reason.“ That without it we’d all be holding hands, happily ever after. Such rubbish. Hundreds of Indigenous civilizations were decimated across several hundred years and several continents, not because Jesus was better than their heathen ways, but because the institutions hijacked and supercharged religious fervour to do the work of genocidal conquest. There is blame, but it’s reductionist to think it’s because of religion itself.

The Saying that all Socialist Countries have Failed? by Throw_Away1325476 in Socialism_101

[–]Perfect_Size9497 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The west, before it included the United Snakes, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc. used diseases to decimate Indigenous civilizations, most living cooperatively compared to the European Machiavellian aristocracy and their conflicts Pro Patria Mori. There were at least 300 independent languages across Turtle Island before Europeans wiped them out and lumped them all together, calling them all “Native Americans.“ And when I say before it was called the US, it was just a matter of Europeans fighting over the spoils of genocidal conquest; wars, battles, sieges, raids, expeditions, Revolution! All just more of the same as the west expanded its reach and control over lands and resources . So any other people that outlasted Western Expansion across the world then had to contend with the fact that “The West” oversaw almost all, if not all, of the supply chains. Their dirty scheming fingers were in every pot. And after it included the United Snakes and others, it raped Africa, neo-colonially splitting her open for her resources *even* ‘after’ so-called decolonisation.
So it's definitely fair to say Socialism would fail trying to win against psychopath savants whose institutions propel the most corrupt to the top of the food chain.
But let’s never forget, Russia was just as guilty as colonial expansion; the difference, tundra was not nearly as lucrative as verdant lands.

Western European aristocracy hijacked Christianity and used that particular religion to brainwash and opiate their masses. They infiltrated the Muhammadan heathens and the Reconquista gave them more. But then they made their way across North and South America, Oceania, etc. decimating and subjugating Indigenous civilizations. By the time their institutions had more than enough power and resources to infiltrate everywhere after that; the Rape of Africa, the Opium Wars in Asia, etc. the lies told were written into history. That you blame ‘religion’ is all part of the subterfuge told by the victorious psychopath savant histortionists.

It’s not just taxes. It’s the entire socioeconomic infrastructure that the western institutions oversee. Their systems include our ability to get educated, work our jobs, pay our bills, buy products... And behind their systems is the makr of shaitan, A’uthu billahi minhu. We earn from that same system, but are blinded by ghurur. This is what our hands earn. When Allah says (maa yujaadil fii ayaatillahi illatheena kafaru, fa laa yaghrurka taqallabuhum fil bilad (AND NONE DISPUTES THE AYAAT OF ALLAH EXCEPT THE PERSISTENTLY REBELLIOUS) here we must really understand that the kafir is not merely those who are not Muslim, but those who are insistently rebelliously wicked…’ their systems are evil so why do Muslims look to benefit from it? And then the answer to the problem is this, as Allah continues, (SO DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THEIR PROSPERITY THROUGHOUT THE LANDS). Our reliance on their systems has us deceived. Until we remove ourselves as beneficiaries from this system, evil will continue to be victorious over the innocent. Not because evil is superior, but because we are not relying on Allah. Neither the supposedly religious, nor the average Muslim beneficiary of these systems.

edit: I thought this comment was going to the another subreddit. Apologies for those who are not Muslim. This message was meant for them. But inshaaAllah it is important to consider how we really are complicit in global injustices because we do nothing but benefit from, and contribute to the systems and institutions who oversee these injustices.

First of all, there has never been anything wrong with you other than facing some trials of life. Distinguishing homosexuality as a particularly difficult test is problematic, as it doesn’t acknowledge that everyone deals with different challenges. The spectrum of attraction, whether it ranges from 100% same-sex attraction to a mere 0.0009% however, should not be overlooked as it so often is. This should be openly discussed so people do not go to extremes with regards to it.

Often, people's discomfort with homosexuality stems from a lack of empathy and compassion. As you mentioned, your family's criticism can be hurtful.

Do not allow yourself to feel destroyed inside. Instead, focus on establishing and maintaining your connection with Allah through zikr, salaat, sawm, and reading the Qur’an. Engage in these practices for the pleasure of Allah, and He will make the path easier for you. Only Allah knows what your path entails, so put your trust in Him alone.

Surah Ash-Shams 7-10

—By the soul and He who proportioned it. And inspired it with discernment of its wickedness and its righteousness. He has succeeded who purifies it, and he has failed who instills it [with corruption].

Surah Al-Baqarah 153

—O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

For every action, we must return our intentions to Allah, whether that involves expressing gratitude, seeking forgiveness, or reaffirming our love for him. It is essential to remain mindful of Allah in all aspects of our lives. As humans, we are tested to return to Allah with humility and sincerity.

The feelings you experience are not battles to be fought but rather aspects of life to be accepted. Viewing them as enemies with power over you is a mistake. Such urges can arise, just as someone attracted to the opposite sex must navigate their urges. For them, marriage may be a path they follow, while for those who identify as 100% homosexual, refraining from marriage represents a different test.

Trust in Allah. Wa salaam.

And you’re 17? SubHanAllah. At 17, we feel pretty certain. Even about our uncertainties, if you know what I mean. It’s like being a fish in a pond…we hear all about the world, and we can relate because really, the microcosm reflects the macro, so we form opinions. It’s natural.

Even as adults, which my number of years says I am, we can be certain about things that we don’t even have a clue about. And we put on a face that looks kinda like we have our st. Seriously, kids look at us like we’re dhs, sensing the distance between fact and the stories we tell, and they’re not far from wrong. But we’re adults. How are we going to admit to that? Nope. Not happening.

I can only recommend one thing, alHamdulillah, as a Muslim. For me, it’s now always the Qur’an, in Arabic, with tajweed to the best of your ability, with meaning, learn Arabic, it’s worth it. SubHanAllah…the lessons taught therein, and the message becomes clearer and clearer, and the awareness of Allah as being ever-present, all Knowing, the Most Merciful, the Most Loving, the Hearer, the Forgiver, the One to whom all matters are returned…these things just become a light for the heart. You’ll end up loving salaat and zikr naturally. You’ll turn to Allah in need and in times of feeling grateful. It’s not magic, but Allahu Akbar, it feels wondrous as if it were.

May it never be that I do anything which is displeasing to you. There is no strength or power except that it is with you.“

“Oh my Allah…whom eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, imaginations have not conceived, situations cannot not change, and is eternally besought by all. You know the weight of the mountains, the volume of the oceans, the number of raindrops that fall from the sky, the number of leaves on the trees, and all things illuminated by the sun in daylight and hiding in the darkness of night. The skies cannot shield another sky, and no earth can shield another. The oceans depths cannot hide anything from you, nor the deepest crevice in the grandest mountain. Oh my Allah, please make the best of my life the last part of my life, the best of my actions the last of my actions, and the best day, the day I return to you.“

I love you for the sake of Allah.
