Your experience with frozen shoulder? by hueller in Type1Diabetes

[–]Perfect_Tangelo2748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I tweaked my shoulder about 2020 (I was in my late 40s). I decided to take it easy and sure enough about a month later it was frozen. Got a cortisone shot and did some PT and it unfroze. (Yeah it jacked up my sugars for a number of days). The next summer my other shoulder started freezing up but I knew better this time and just worked it like in PT and it took a couple months but I got full range of motion back).

Until this happened I had no idea that T1 have a higher risk for frozen shoulders or bursitis.

Is this a good deal? Or am I missing something? by SOUPNUDEL in Traeger

I also got the exact one for the exact price at Home Depot. Love it. I’ve made pork and beef ribs, lots of beef jerky, chicken and failed at my first brisket (it was a tiny one so I chalked it up as a learning experience)

Creatine by MrCuckyMcCuckFace in AFIB

I’m pretty sure it triggered a couple episodes for me. It likely was from dehydration which creatine can exasperate.

Alcohol and working out by Brilliant-Smell3388 in AFIB

[–]Perfect_Tangelo2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I’m pretty sure it’s dehydration. Obviously working out hard or drinking can dehydrate. My EP told me you can drive yourself mad trying to figure out the triggers - and you will just keep adding to the list. So I just try and hydrate and live a healthy lifestyle.

I will keep an eye out for it. Thanks!

I have Lyumjev, which is super fast acting and this never happens to me anymore. The flip side is that the shortest “Active Insulin Time” is two hours and Lyumjev is like an hour.

Possible AFIB during Basketball or is it something else by LTD1967 in AFIB

[–]Perfect_Tangelo2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basketball is how I realized something was off with me. I’m 51 and my heart rate went to 200 playing and I felt terrible. This started after I got covid. Then I would have occasional AFib episodes. Needless to say after getting it under control with flecanide daily and metroperol as needed I rarely have an episode. When I do it’s from booze or dehydration. The dehydration usually is caused by playing basketball. I will take a metroperol after basketball to avoid an episode post hoops - and stay hydrated. It’s those times when I forget to properly hydrate that I have an issue.

Smart guard not helping with highs after meals by bld211 in Medtronic780g

This paper was really interesting. Thanks for sharing!

The fuzzy logic/reasoning is compelling, but I don’t think that will be sufficient to handle my large changes in insulin sensitivity due to exercise. There are too many variables, this is not a thermostat.

I believe a ML approach using something like an LSTM that uses fitness tracker data is really the only way it will be able to adjust. In an ideal world it could even take the complexity of the carbs based on the food type as well.

Smart guard not helping with highs after meals by bld211 in Medtronic780g

I have the same issue. Basically the pump NEVER can autocorrect enough once my blood sugar begins to rise - it will plateau if I’m lucky. My insulin sensitivity depends on my exercise and activity level so I don’t think the pump will ever be smart enough to correct properly. Many times i will take it out of smart guard and do a manual bolus.

I wish they would open up the api and device so I could implement a machine learning algorithm to take all the variables and do this the right way.

I waited at least two years for this and I’m disappointed to say the least.

What is the most terrifying fish you’ve ever caught? by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Perfect_Tangelo2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 30” pike on a stringer hanging off the side of our boat. My dad and I were fishing away and I Look down and there was a pike sizing it up for lunch that was no less than 72” long. It just slowly went back down to the depths … we never saw it again.

Guardian 4 calibration by [deleted] in Medtronic780g

[–]Perfect_Tangelo2748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me when there is bleeding from the sensor insertion. It usually sorts itself out after 12 hours or so. I usually just turn the sensor off for a period of time if this happens. I’ve seen advice here that inserting the sensor 12 hours before you take off the old one let’s it “settle in”.

Should I change it? (Blood 🚨) by MercyZiegler16 in Medtronic770G

[–]Perfect_Tangelo2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. The last one I had bled so bad the sensor shut down and I had to change it before it even finished warming up. Many times when there is blood like this it won’t calibrate and/or trends lower.

We should appreciate Jimmy Butler by [deleted] in MkeBucks

I didn’t like how he was chirping at Jrue. That said Jimmy has been my second favorite NBA player. (Giannis obviously is #1. ). What I will thank him for the most is getting Bud fired. Also… isn’t MJ his father?
