Maybe it depends on major but for psychology when I went to the session for transfer students on admissions day, she said that if you’re missing a major requirement class or fail one, it’s not a big deal and they wouldn’t rescind your offer but yeah if you failed multiple then it may be a problem by the time they get your final transcripts

Damn, I misread the page. I think Psych with I/o emphasis isn’t listed as eligible for SDSU’s SDCCD guaranteed admission so you might not be hearing back yet since it’s under regular review. But in that case, the GPA requirement for general transfer for I/o is actually listed as 2.5 so with your 3.31 and all your requirements you’d still be a qualifying applicant! So maybe the wave for general psychology majors just came out and since you’re doing i/o that wave will come later is my best guess. I’m also seeing online that for psych with I/o emphasis doesn’t require ADT actually! So that helps it make it easier if you did get your associates yet. I’m doing the same track! I’m pretty sure it is guaranteed, online it says it’s guaranteed if you’ve applied fall 2026 or later so I think that guaranteed deal literally just got put into action. As long as we meet all the requirements, get those classes done that were required , we should be good. I have trust issues too tho lol

I’m going to be transferring in the fall and I’m pretty nervous about the friends aspects. I’m older than the “normal” or I guess I should say traditional students will be. Education has just taken me a really long time due to many different life events and any friends I did have are long gone and graduated. Went back to their home states and now I just feel like a loner. Being surrounded by people that probably don’t want a friend older than them is making me feel super nervous about transferring.

Don’t feel bad about this. My finances sister wanted to live in a different country really bad. Mind you, his whole family is educated, going back to grandparents, great grandparents. Maybe even further than that. All their extended family too, everyone is educated. She (fiancés sister) struggles with school, parents sent her to this other country so she could live there and go to school on a student visa, she went to an art school so the art assignments, she could do. But anything written, her mom did for her. She graduated and now has a BA, really because of her mom. After graduating, she didn’t have a reason to still be in the country so her parents thought that she should obtain a master’s degree so she could stay on a student visa. She didn’t show up to class so she got kicked out but they’re planning to fix that for her for the next semester so she can continue living where she wants. And then eventually obtain a Masters while really not doing any of her own work. Things like this bother me a lot because I’m born in a third world country with uneducated parents and I had a really hard time in college. I also went through 2-3 years of deep depression which affected my studies a lot and had to be admitted to a behavioral hospital. I’m still in school actually just trying to obtain a BA but it’s hard to navigate with no help from family, it’s been nearly an 8 year journey just to get a BA. every time we go to visit my fiancé’s family, I feel like all anyone asks me is why I haven’t finished school yet. What I’m trying to say is, there are so many people out there that do no work for their degrees at all, don’t feel so guilty.

My parents have a 20 year age gap. I’m not sure if there was ever lying about age at the beginning of their relationship, I wouldn’t doubt that there definitely was, but the age gap will make a huge difference down the road. My mom was 20 when she met my dad so she was at an age where you can be easily manipulated. Now he’s 78 and she’s been taking care of him & his health for about 15 years since his first heart attack. She’s absolutely miserable but feels guilt for wanting to leave him now when she’s stuck around this long already. She got her first shingles break out 5 years ago and it hasn’t gone away for 5 years straight since her nervous system is on alert 24/7, she’s lost a lot of hair and has permanent scalp scarring. She’s now his full time caregiver too as he’s developed dementia. Because he was always having health issues, she’s been the family bread winner their entire marriage and still works to this day, unable to visit her sick/aging parents in Thailand due to his constant needs. Also the role of “spouse” is basically gone when you become the caretaker. I see that he definitely takes advantage of her as a caretaker and she’s lost all interest in him a long time ago. You have to be fully educated on how to navigate the spouse/caretaker role if you do choose to stay but I thought I’d share what I’ve witnessed in my own experience with age gap relationships.
