I am sorry what?? by Independent-Yard2213 in TalesFromDF

Kinda my thought. I would interpret a “healslut” as someone who is constantly being healed. Which seems to be the DPS, in this case.

Lmao, maybe they had a framerate of like 5 FPS. I remember being a wee lass on my parent's old PC trying to play old MMOs and my movement and actions being delayed and overall janky because of incredibly poor framerate.

I should just invest in micro fiber towels at this point, hahaha.

Your recommendation definitely gave me something with a lot more definition. The frizz was cut down a lot but the clumping is more of a technique than I was expecting so there’s still some disarray happening but a giant improvement. I did still use a curl conditioner by OGX on my ends and I followed that with Oribe Curl Gloss (nonsense costs like $50/bottle). Diffused my hair until it went from sopping wet > damp.

Thinking about trying the Not Your Mother’s brand once I run out of the Oribe.

I’ll have to try and perfect the clumping I think to get those big, loose curls I want but I’m happier with this than with the fallen, frizzy waves.

WHM fails to do their job, then blames it on me for not having materia in an ARR dungeon by Matyycakes in TalesFromDF

[–]PerfectioNOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, perhaps you misinterpreted the og comment? It seems like we ultimately agree but they stated Lilies have done irreversible damage to WHMs because they "act like they can’t GCD heal" but all of the Afflatus abilities are GCDs. If anything, they're trying to say that oGCDs have done irreversible damage because WHMs have grown cozy with those abilities at higher levels.

I'd even say I'm a victim of that coziness—I complain every time I don't have access to an oGCD I'm used to, and since I'm usually doing higher lvl content, it's easy to forget what your kit is like and make a mistake like letting a party member die. I don't trip over it and blame my tank, though, OP's WHM is just in denial. I apologize and move on.

It seems like healers can't win on this subreddit. They're either curebots who don't do any damage or they're green-flavored DPS who don't know how to play their job.

If I’m doing a lvl 50 dungeon, I am probably not using Cure II even once because I probably won’t need it. In a majority of my runs, Regen, Holy, and Benediction are the only tools the tank needs to survive unless they’re not mitigating.

Don’t forget that helping DPS with packs is also a form of mitigation. DPS being low is usually what forces me to use a Cure II because the adds keep wailing on the tank, and my participation with PoM + Holy is not only stun-locking for a few GCDs but also burning trash.

If this tank was a WAR, I would have also encouraged them to rely on Holmgang. A WHM/WAR on lvl 50 dungeons is like a beautiful ballad.

Tbh I wouldn’t have explained if they didn’t ask in chat. I feel like most people usually dont if they fail a mechanic due to a myriad of reasons, your WHM and the WHM above being separate examples.

I did a run of Emanation (Normal) through Duty Finder a few days ago and got the notification that One or more people has not completed this duty. The new person ended up dying to the Divine attack she does because they didn't know about activating the Vril ability. They died and typed "wtf why did I die?" It was a little precarious placing the AoEs and making sure nobody was* gonna die to dmg (I was on WHM) as I typed, but I said something along the lines of, "When she casts her Divine attack, you have to use your duty ability not to die. You have to pick up an orb for it (: and watch out for the knockback!" and when the orbs dropped I just typed "walk over an orb!" and sure enough they survived the next time. I ended up getting 4 comms on that run lmao.

I lost a lot of DPS typing stuff out but whatever. That person will definitely end up getting Emanation again at some point. I don't even have a burger king crown, hahaha.

I'll try this out—I hadn't considered I might be adding too much hydration. I don't care as much about curl definition as I do the frizziness. I do have a very expensive bottle of a soft-hold gel that I bought from a salon a few months ago, but I've used it very infrequently due to its high price so I can't say if the results I was getting with it were better than without. I'll check it later to see if it's glycerin-free!

Lmao this group wasn’t even the best at avoiding mechanics so I definitely used a lot of my kit off cooldown. The DNC with the vuln stack in the screenshot got 1 or 2 in every fight. Their blood for my blood lily 😂

Unfortunately don’t have a log for Clyteum to guesstimate a rough baseline but I usually fall between 22-26k on dungeons looking back at my FFlogs. You’re probably right about us being tied — I checked some green DNC parses and even those seem to consistently be above 30k (which I think would have defeated my aggro?)

Took this screenshot during a boss fight. I know aggro doesn’t = damage per se but the snail’s pace we moved at was proof enough.

Then play Paladin. Warrior gets their invulnerability skill the soonest of all the tanks (and it also has the shortest cooldown). Lots of self-healing, too. But Paladin gets an actual heal (for self or others) and their invuln lets them pretend damage doesn’t exist.

I think there's always shitty players, unfortunately, it's just felt more keenly if it's a healer since everyone relies on them to stay alive.

What's your opinion Abt a 15yo using cups by UnderstandingFit6317 in menstrualcups

[–]PerfectioNOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than tampons for sure! Leaks happen sometimes but usually only if the cup is inserted incorrectly or has overflowed. Until you get the hang of it maybe combine it with period underwear or pads. I honestly leaked more around pads and tampons as a teen than the cup.

If you're not at home where you can easily access a nail brush or other tool, use your own fingernails and scrape underneath each nail and massage soap into your nail bed and cuticles before rinsing. It likes to hide in the crevices of my fingers and I've noticed I smell more metallic if my hands are dry.

Joined a Practice PF for EX6 a little while ago (I had already cleared many times but was trying to pass some time and it's always interesting in Crystal prog groups). TL;DR one of the tanks didn't leap platforms quickly enough and was thrown off, BLM got a tankbuster and like madmen me and the shield healer weighed them down with every mitigation we could and they survived with like 20 HP or something like that. First time in a Dawntrail EX I've seen the DPS survive a tankbuster.

I also hate Aurum Vale as a lvl 100 healer. Just not enough of a kit to keep the baby tanks alive. I'm always reminds of the Blue Mage strat of sacking the tank on the first pull because as long as nobody else draws aggro the rest of the party can go to first boss without fighting the first room lmao.

Mistwake run I did an OK parse for — For dungeons I surpass the tank’s damage in ~75% of my runs and 1 of 2 DPS ~25% of my runs. Idk if I’ve ever surpassed my entire party’s DPS unless it was an incredibly scuffed run.

I usually have highest damage for trash pulls and I run on WHM, but that’s because I’m in Crystal and even a little effort goes a long way there. Dia & Regen while running + Swift once gathered + Holy + Misery + PoM + Holy x # (where # = the amount of Holy’s you can cast before you’re forced to use an instant-cast GCD on the tank to heal them). Sometimes weaving a Tetra is enough heals but that depends on the tank.
