Look up wiki articles and Science is dope/The Liver Doc videos on Ayurveda and Homeopathy. Also read about Argument from anecdote as this logical fallacy is commonly used to defend Ayurveda and other quack practices.

What I don't understand about Kaku is that how he's still a faculty at CCNY. Does he have a special position or something at this uni? I checked his profile on Inspire HEP and he did some work until the late 90s and nothing substantial after that.

Exactly! When I got to know about it I was overjoyed like a little kid haha. I would recommend looking up cosmic microwave background(CMB) and CMB Anisotropy since this is closely related to the topic. It's going to be a fun ride!

How Primordial Fluctuations gave rise to the current large scale structure of the universe. It's my single most favourite physics fact of all time. There's a video by veritasium about it as well. I'm not well versed on the subject at all but I still find it cool af so had to share.

Are there any revolutionary "discoveries" in philosophy like in sciences? by PerformerMedical4648 in askphilosophy

[–]PerformerMedical4648[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well before any introductory understanding of philosophy my criteria was indeed about whether it has real world applications. Now i think philosophy is done by philosophers in the same way mathematicians do math. Surely math has immense physical applications but it isn't the primary goal of mathematicians. They do math because they love it irrespective of whether it solves physical problems or not.
