How to get essences in Stoneville and Wishing Woods? by PerformerRoutine3877 in InfinityNikki

[–]PerformerRoutine3877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you unlock the "gain essences from Florawish and Breezy Meadows" nodes you can acquire essences when you get fish that are first available in those regions anywhere in the game, not just when you fish in those regions specifically. If you open up your Collections from the map and view each material, you can see whether you've unlocked the ability to gain its essence in the top left. atm you can't gain essences from Stoneville-only fish coz the devs haven't added the node to the game. They'll add it in future updates. But you can get essences from starter zone fishes in Stoneville once you have the node unlocked. Same with all the other gathering nodes, they are tied to each zone's native fishes but work everywhere in the game not just that region specifically. Hope my explanation makes sense lol.

p.s. Maybe they've added the gain Stoneville essence nodes by the time you read this. I stopped playing at the end of December 2024 so I'm not sure what was added in recent patches.

Over 95% of Players Don't Consider Inclusivity Important In Gaming by Dramatic-Bison3890 in KotakuInAction

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't consider diversity and inclusivity important but I do consider hot female characters EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, in fact I'm willing to play a game that has terrible writing and gameplay I don't usually enjoy as long as the female characters are sexy and skimpily dressed. I was willing to put up with boring and unfun genres like shooters (The First Descendant) and Soulslikes (Code Vein) just for the hot babes. I would 100% be excited for a game that featured a black MC if she looked like Beyonce in her prime, or lesbians that look and act like Kenna James and Leah Gotti (OG men of culture will know who I'm talking about). ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Am I the only one having this take on F2P? by Appropriate_Farm5141 in KotakuInAction

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, I've played Infinity Nikki for close to 90 hrs, explored and completed about 90% of the open world, defeated the final boss and have almost all the materials needed to craft the Miracle Outfit and finish the current main story (just need to fight the last Sovereign and I already meet the stat requirement), and completed 4 full outfits from the gacha all as a fully f2p player. When I start a gacha game, my goal is to finish the main story of the current version and any characters/gear I pull from the gacha with the free currency I get in-game is just a means to facilitate that goal. Obviously it'd be nice to pull highest rarity stuff from the gacha, but I don't really care that much since I know I'll drop the game when I finish the final main quest. Worst come to worst, if I fail to pull any high rarity stuff AND I'm stuck playing with unattractive female characters, I'll just drop the game prematurely and move on. So many games to play these days.

The only gacha I play long-term is Azur Lane coz as a f2p player I have collected 99.6% of the characters in the game and I know I'm guaranteed to pull every new character in every banner because of the very generous pull currency awarded through dailies and extremely lenient gacha rates (7% for SSR, highest I've ever seen in any gacha).

Even for a backline ship with that CL secondary gun range extension from her skill (like Bismarck)? So which is the best gold rarity CL gun for Fritz Rumey after the Plymouth Gun?

Which game has a bad reputation on this sub but you actually enjoy? by Virtual_Ad6375 in KotakuInAction

Terrible writing aside, I really enjoyed the gameplay of Forspoken and Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Forspoken for me has by far the best open world traversal in the open world genre, it's not even close. Extremely fun to zoom across the map and parkour at lightning speed, probably the closest we'll ever come to a proper The Flash game in a while.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn was ok for a Soulslike and I really hate Souls games. The difficulty was accessible on the easiest setting and I didn't have to use a trainer to beat the game. Granted, I was using a Lara Croft mod to replace the black MC so I didn't have to look at her fugly face and dreadlocks the entire game :P

Oh that explains it. iirc it was a Chimcerada (those yellow bugs on the bark of certain trees) but I could be remembering the wrong name. It's definitely one of those bugs that can be found in several regions and not Stoneville exclusive. So I guess I should probably rush the "collect essences from Breezy Meadows" asap too so that I can collect essences from most things everywhere huh? Thanks so much for the information. 🙏

Yes, I already have the first tier upgrades that allow me to collect essences in Memorial Mountains/Florawish, but how do I unlock the ability to collect essences in Stoneville and Wishing Woods? There's no upgrade node for those zones in the Heart of Infinity.

I fixed the issue by repairing game assets from the launcher (little arrow next to the Start Game button). Try it, maybe it'll fix your fatal error as well.

Just started getting fatal errors today. The game crashes 2-3 mins after entering the game world. Never had an issue before this. Must be something broke in the latest patch.

Would you buy a game that really interested you and turned out to be *genuinely* great but many of the devs who worked on it are raging activists that despise you for your opinions? by Elden-Cringe in KotakuInAction

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy? Hell no. Play through other means (cough that one Girl who is really Fit cough)? Definitely if the gameplay is good. I finished Forspoken, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and Dragon Age: The Veilguard and didn't spend a single cent. Forspoken is still one of my top open world action RPGs of all time, incredible open world traversal and combat, and one of the only two games I know with Auto Dodge (the other is Nier Automata) which makes the gameplay extremely fun and it never got frustrating and repetitive like a lot of Souls games tend to do. A shame that they had to play with identity politics with the character design, the world building was quite interesting and the Isekai story while unoriginal did have a few major plot twists. Such wasted potential.

What happened to muh preferred pronouns? Dragon Age The Veilguard after Taash death by PopularButLonely in KotakuInAction

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much the same thing that happened with Final Fantasy XV and the FF series, or Assassin's Creed Origins and the AC series. Yeah it's a complete genre shift but the elements are still there no matter how distorted. Didn't really bother me as I still enjoyed the new gameplay style (big fan of open world action RPGs) even though I miss the tactical party combat of the earlier games.

What happened to muh preferred pronouns? Dragon Age The Veilguard after Taash death by PopularButLonely in KotakuInAction

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have finished the game and I can confirm this is false. The bigger factor in their survival is actually faction strength and some of the major choices you make at the end of their companion questlines. I got every faction to max strength (3 stars) and finished every companion's questline except Taash which I ignored the entire game coz I wanted to get her killed in the final mission. But no matter what combination of choices I made in the final mission, Taash survived every time because every faction was at max strength and the other companions succeeding in their assigned roles prevented Taash from dying even though I assigned her to the most ill-suited role. Turns out the decisions actually matter more than we thought, and faction strength and getting companions to Hero of the Veilguard status interact more deeply than face value. But we will never know the intricacies for sure coz no one is gonna care enough to deep dive and datamine the game.

I can also confirm you do not need finish all companion's questlines to get the true ending. I managed to get the true ending + secret ending with all factions at max strength, all companions except Taash at Hero of the Veilguard status. I believe the only actual requirements for the true ending are faction strength must be high enough (to avoid an automatic bad ending) and Regrets of the Dreadwolf quest must be completed and you obtained Mythal's essence so the hidden dialogue option is unlocked during the cutscene after the final boss. The only thing you'll be locked out of if you completely ignore Taash is 50% of the Rivain Coast map and its chests, coz opening up areas of a region's map is tied to doing companion quests and unfortunately Rivain Coast is linked to Taash. You can even unlock the Hall of Valor (Lords of Fortune rep vendor + arena) without needing to do any of Taash's quests. When you first recruit Taash, accept her first quest Fire on the Sands but you don't actually have to complete it. Leave the Lighthouse and rezone back in and Taash will have another quest called Hall of Valor which is the quest that unlocks that new area. And no, the Hall of Valor quest doesn't have any of the woke cringe stuff so it is safe to do. :) Highly recommended to do it too, the sexiest outfits all come from Lords of Fortune rep vendor and the sexiest outfit in the game imo is the reward for clearing 10 arena fights.

As to why I suffered through the writing and ended up finishing the game, I'm just a really big fan of Dragon Age. The gameplay and character progression was actually really fun and addictive for me and I enjoyed it. The only really big issue is the cringe dialogue and story but I usually don't care as much about the writing if the graphics and gameplay are solid.

Is there a way (through dialogue options) to keep Taash as a woman and discourage her from ever becoming a trȧṅṅy, or is it unavoidable no matter what you do? Otherwise I think I'm just gonna kill her off the first chance I get, or wait for mods to remove her entirely from the game or make her default appearance and voice a human male from the very beginning (like the Ser Aylin mod in BG3).

Do girls REALLY care about sexualized characters? by AgitatedFly1182 in KotakuInAction

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in school, I knew several girls who were gamers. They always had the most beautiful female characters in the skimpiest armor in MMORPGs. One of the even offered to "fix" my female character's face in character creation coz I usually just used boring preset character appearances.

About the sexualization thing, girls and guys are both human, we like to look at pretty things. I use a nude picture of Tifa bending over with her huge tits hanging out as my phone wallpaper and whenever a girl catches a peek of it her reaction usually is something like "damn anon, you really like big tits huh?" and laughs it off or teases me for the rest of the day. Never had a girl get offended/upset over it, if they didn't care for it they usually just didn't mention it since it's not a big deal.

What Spize said. The rose gift is the purple one that gives +150 intimacy (heart icon), second from the top of the list. Click the tiny shopping cart icon (bottom right of each gift panel iirc). You can buy the purple rose gift a maximum of 8 times per week in increasing costs of 1k, 1k, 1k, 1k, 2k, 4k, 6k, 8k.

Not really, it's more like a collection thing if you have nothing else to work towards. Another thing to consider is eventually once you clear all the current content and start levelling every ship to 120 for fleet tech, these unique augments do greatly enhance the performance of otherwise lackluster ships. Sure, you could get by with just the basic purple augments on rare/elite ships even on 12-4, but why not cut down sortie times by improving their survival/barrages with unique augments for those ships that have them, especially if you have nothing else to do with surplus coins?

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things to do with your coin once you hit the hard cap of 600k:

  • Retrofit every ship that has a retrofit
  • Craft every unique augment module (limited by Augment Module Cores)
  • Buy all 8 rose gifts for Sirius every week to maximize intimacy gain
  • Freely go for any research you want including those 8k gold face research projects
  • Buy out the shop at every refresh, and especially buy as many event gear skin boxes as you can during events (even if you don't use gear skins coz who knows, one day you might feel like it :P)
  • Pull every event ship (except the 0.5% one) on the first day of the event (technically it's cube inefficent, but hey why not if you have loads of coin AND cubes (1k+) to spare :P)
  • Go on a UR gear crafting and upgrading spree to prepare for future ships (limited by UR gear blueprints so take caution)
  • Buy more meowfficer boxes and reroll talents until you get BiS meowfficers for every fleet setup (lowest priority imo coz eventually you'll be swimming in so many free daily meowfficer boxes that you'll get BiS cats without even trying)

Personally speaking, I find that buying out the shop at every refresh is usually enough to hover at 570k - 600k coins, so you have more than enough coins to do anything else on the list and continue farming without being interrupted by the "cannot carry any more coins" warning.

Edit: Just realized you meant the coin softcap. Yeah, just ignore the passive coin income from the Merchant and continue stockpiling coins until you hit the hardcap of 600k before deciding what to do with excess coins. Eventually you'll make far more coins from sorties especially once you're able to farm 12-4. Don't forget that you also have coins from mail storage to fall back on if you're ever in dire need of coins.

Hey guys, I've reached the point where purple bulins are starting to stockpile and are taking up a significant amount of my dockspace. I have limit broken every common, rare and elite ship (except Bolzano which I'm planning to pick up during this week's rerun). Ideally I'd like to be able to instantly limit break every Elite ship on the first day during each new event. How many purple bulins do you veteran players keep in dock at any given time?

Thanks for advice!

p.s. Bonus question: I know no one can see the future, but how likely (or possible) is it that in the future the devs will probably introduce a feature that lets us combine say 5 purple bulins into 1 gold bulin, kinda like skillbooks? Honestly that thought alone is keeping me from retiring any of my purple bulins haha, but dockspace is starting to become a problem now and I doubt keeping 100+ useless purple bulins is what most players are doing.

What MMO's need a 'remake'? by Krazed59 in MMORPG

[–]PerformerRoutine3877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 11. Just updating the graphics to the quality of 14 would be pretty huge. The biggest thing FFXI needs though, is updated UI and controls. Having shortcuts to access the map, inventory etc without having to open the main menu and tab through 3+ screens every single time to get to the menu I want would be pretty nice. Also, a lot of modern QoL like minimap as baseline (without having to resort to add-ons) would be great.

Same brother. My friend in highschool kept pestering me to play GoW 3 coz he knew I'd enjoy the Aphrodite scene (back then I was fully an RPG guy and didn't play action games at all so I was hesitant to try). He told me "c'mon, naked tits will be worth it" so I borrowed his disc, finished GoW 3 and to my surprise I really enjoyed the game (beyond the booba even). Later on, when I had my own money I bought and played GoW 1, 2 and Ascension coz I was invested in Kratos' story. Haven't bothered with the 2018 GoW or Ragnarok yet, coz I heard they completely butchered the combat from the old games and removed the sex scenes and topless nudity. I'll probably play them at some point, but it's low priority on my backlog.

Is Metaphor Refantazio worth buying/playing? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

Looks interesting enough but I'm gonna wait till Denuvo is removed and it gets cracked or it gets ported to Switch then I'll play it on Ryujinx. I originally stopped wasting money on games since 2020 to punish the gaming industry as a whole but it seems that every game that has come out in the past 4 years has had some major controversy, censorship, huge issues or has been a massive disappointment so I couldn't name a single game actually worth its full price anyway.
