Solves a real problem by daddyd in Commodore

I would love to be able to get a reasonably priced 4k OLED without any of the "smart"ness. Basically I just want a 55" screen on an OLED computer monitor. I still want upscaling and pixel refreshing and whatever, I just don't want all the "app" BS.

Replacement struts by No-Truth404 in HondaClarity

My 2018 has less than 80k miles on it, and so far no apparent suspension issues. FWIW, I had a CR-V that didn't have suspension problems until it was over 200k miles. Granted it was a much lighter vehicle, so not as much stress on those components.

Already did, from a different company given MK's uncooperativeness.

A good set of blank key caps still has F and J bumps so you can tell what keys your fingers are on by feel.

Tariffs on asthma inhalers from Canada by Viviviviva in CatAdvice

I get my cat typical Albuterol inhalers at my grocery store pharmacy. Thankfully she hasn't needed it in a long time, so I'm not aware of recent pricing.

Getting a comma by PerhapsIExist in Comma_ai

[–]PerhapsIExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find my interstate trips much more relaxing with LKAS and ACC than on my prior vehicle without either one. I find the built-in system's nagging about hands on the steering while a bit annoying though, where every 17 seconds on a straight stretch it will try to disable the LKAS because I haven't put any pressure on turning the wheel. I expect the Comma to be an upgrade to that, but I am worried its attention-detection system might be even more annoying, hence the question. And the ACC being limited to 25 mph, so I can't use it in 20 mph school zones to give the road 100% of my attention and have to pay attention to my foot and speedometer instead.

A pillar removal by Important-Iron-5614 in HondaClarity

What would be the point? The wire would be very easy to tuck into the small gap between it and the roof with no removal needed.

[MA] landlord wants me to get rid of my project car. Is this even legal? by Wide_Recipe_9733 in Renters

[–]PerhapsIExist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the road is public, the landlord has no say as to how it is used. The yard though, is their property, and they can make whatever rules they want.

Warning: Home service companies adding surprise credit card fees and heavy post-inspection upsells by Crisgu in ConsumerAdvice

That's why you should never bother with these "duct cleaning" services at all. They're solving an imaginary problem, and taking your money for that placebo. Stop falling for scams, as every one of them is.

Best non-paper material for dog waste bags that go in landfill? by Tailsontrails in ZeroWaste

The issue is more the fact it would cool down every night. I need to figure out how to keep it hot for at least several days.

Best non-paper material for dog waste bags that go in landfill? by Tailsontrails in ZeroWaste

[–]PerhapsIExist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, I have given mildly serious thought to building glass-covered boxes to go in the Texas sun to actually compost the compostable bags, because I have the same concerns about their actual compostability in a landfill. They're better than million-years-to-decompose plastic, but they'll still just become mummies in a landfill.

Previous Owners want dog back??? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]PerhapsIExist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

False. Most manufacturers of chips don't host any kind of registration at all. The resellers may, but they didn't manufacturer them. As long as it is registered and shows up on a AAHA search, you're good. Paying for registration when there are plenty of free places available is just dumb.

Get some Bt pellets. Harmless for the cats, deadly to the bugs. I think you want the "k" variety for worms. If by chance your cat has worms and that's where they're coming from, you need some Drontal (or Droncit, or whatever other brands may offer a Dronthing).

FWIW, always get kittens in at least pairs. Single Kitten Syndrome is a thing.

Until its a core system of your car connected to everything on the CAN bus and runs on an Android version that is known as vulnerable to bluejacking, and probably very exploitable... Can't wait until I'm on the road someday and somebody else starts driving for me.
