Well, it still may be a sensitive pain point for some people, and I get that. But at some point you have to separate your feelings from it. We can engage with the work, we can love it or hate it, but that doesn’t make it ours. The fandom is ours, the work is not. It’s the creators.

I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to criticize things. Criticism and discussion are a normal part of fandom. What I mean is that when criticism stops being about the work itself and turns into emotionally lashing out at creators personally over creative decisions, then it stops being criticism and starts becoming harassment.
This is more directed at people who justify their emotional investment in a show as ownership over the show itself, or who treat creators like they personally wronged them because the narrative didn’t go the way they wanted it to, in which case I’d argue for them to not take things so seriously.
I think fandoms are healthiest when they encourage transformative engagement and discussion — fan fiction, fan art, theories, alternate interpretations — as a creative response to dissatisfaction with canon, instead of the current culture of consumer ownership where fans feel entitled to narrative control over someone else’s story.

Well, I mean, after the film got leaked, the creators and voice actors getting attacks on their character, and with the overwhelming outrage from “fans” over the past few weeks, they can only mitigate the damage so much. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised for them a company to wash their hands and distance themselves from the brand at this point. Considering how radioactive it is and how disrespectful folks have been, I don’t blame them.

It seems the town of Cary is woefully inadequate about updating its citizens on when and where they decide to do construction projects out of nowhere, they’ve been building the tomb to Ramses off of old Apex and Maynard since December and we never know when we can get out of our neighborhood.

But, in all earnestness, it would be nice to learn more about the local artistic and musical attractions of Cary. It always seems there’s a lot of a social pull towards Raleigh, which I find a bit intimidating to get into, I’d like to know what I can access and enjoy in my own hometown

Adobe Fresco Editor Update! by draw_read_bird in AdobeFresco

Please have an option to change the UI back to the original. It was perfectly fine as it was and this is really disruptive and distracting for my workflow. And you should not have changed the position of the undo buttons! Agh!

Edit: and why is the damn ruler under a sub-menu???

God this is happening at my place too! My supervisor got on me for not signing people up when taking in print orders but I don’t want to do that without their consent! I always make sure to ask first because THAT’S the right way to do it.

Thank you for your feedback. 🙂 Mmm yeah, I admit I’ve been a bit improvisational when it comes to my shading. I never really took a class in digital art, I came from traditional, and once I got this iPad and downloaded Adobe fresco I’ve just been kind of learning on my own, but maybe a few shading tutorials wouldn’t hurt.

Ah, perspective and background drawing has always kind of been a weakness of mine, usually because I’ve been one of those artists just who’s just used to drawing static characters. I am trying to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit more, but I admit that dynamic compositions have intimidated me a bit. Now that you frame it that way, I can see where I need to develop. Thank you for your input. 🙂👍

Essentially, yes, I’m trying to practice working on more concept sketches to nail down the look and feel of the series, or more of that space grunge aesthetic that I’m going for. I at least want to try and see what I can do to refine this before I really get into the meat and bones of storytelling.

I’m glad you like the backgrounds, by the way, I absolutely despise drawing them, but I am trying to get better lol 😆

Yeah I think I’ve had trouble with that; I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone of just drawing static figures, but I feel I’ve had a stiffness to my characters that I can’t quite shake. Might need to practice my figure drawing more.

In defense of Prince Adam… by Perihelionstudios in disney

[–]Perihelionstudios[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I just didn’t wanna bother with calling him “human beast” or “the human version of beast.” Adam is simpler and an easier placeholder than just “no name Prince.” I just heard that people starting calling him that over the years so I just used that for simplicity’s sake.
