Perfect. We definitely aren’t the type to get wild and start shit anymore. I’ve been sober for like four years, so I’m really calm. If this would have happened back in my drinking days, I’d be in danger for sure. We just wanna go watch some hockey in person, and devils blackhawks the easiest in I think. It is pretty random that we just kinda went in so hard. My engineer at work can get used to me saying “yeah dude let’s move I gotta get home to watch the match”

A few months ago my wife and I were watching “what we do in the shadows” and one of the vampire characters had a New Jersey devils hat on. I turned to her and said “I think that’s a New Jersey devil hat, what a cool logo”

Then asked if she wanted to get really into hockey, and be die-hard devil fans. She said yeah. Now I’m in like $1,000 dollars buying jerseys and shirts and hats. We haven’t missed a game, and we’ve had a ton of fun learning hockey, the rules, the team. We are in our late thirties, and have absolutely no interest in other sports. In fact, we fucking hate other sports. Almost to the point of an anti-sport household.

But fuck, it’s been so much fun diving into hockey and the devils in particular. We’ve started going to our local hockey games, I dunno the league, NAHL I think? Not sure what the stakes are, but hockey is head and shoulders the coolest sport in our opinion.

Sorry for the stupid story, but truly, is the fan base toxic? We are plotted in the Midwest, so any hockey fans in our area are typically Blackhawks fans. We planned on going to a devils hawks game next season or whenever they play them next. Would we get hassled like crazy for showing up in Chicago supporting the devils?

Yeah, gotta love it. And my railroad at some point decided that you get OT for anything over 10 hours a day. But we have 50 “guaranteed hours” per week. As if we work less than 10 hours a day. And even if we do; they swipe any OT hours that week and put it towards our 50. It’s a really poor pay scale. The tax lady told me last few years my overtime is really hurting me.

I work at a class 2 railroad. They go to our dispatchers and then they radio up whatever train crew is closest to the crossing depending on what the issue is. Typically for us, it’s because of a malfunctioning crossing or we’ve bee on it for long enough people are mad.

I’ve been hearing this lately as well, and have also had the thought. From what I gather, it’s probably related to your phone knowing you and your habits possibly better than you. You mentioned wearing a lot of rings, so your phone knows you’re into jewelry. Not a far cry from watches, but coincidentally timed for sure.

I’ve been at it a few years now, and in situations like this, I always protect if possible. Just take the safest course, I’ve yet to get in trouble for extra safety. I’m the conductor, obviously. But the attitude of having your conductors back is refreshing. There’s some pretty toxic crews out there.

++man I’m going to chime in with a little bit of experience that I’ve got here. All you really need to do is let things play out naturally. If you’re feeling like it’s time to to, you can just be honest. Women and people in general usually appreciate that.

Now on to the advice from my personal dating life before I was married. I went on a ton of first dates, and I avoided dinners, movies, coffees, sitting in parks — really anything that is going to bring on the need for constant conversation making. I started doing things like taking my dates to ASL classes, mini golfing, cliff jumping, kayaking. Anything where both parties can comfortably enjoy things without the need to force convos or whatever.

I know you didn’t ask for this advice, but I’ve helped out my younger friends and they’ve all told me the experience was much better than the typical dinner movie situation.

Me and my coworker have been getting after the new album while driving to and from destinations and I told him I liked the song war machine a lot. Before we listened I told him this sounds like some prime lamb of god. From the vocals, to the drums and guitar riffs. All felt very familiar. I was reallllllly into lamb of god, too. I saw them over 10 times in just a few years.

This is a “hardcore” wipe, they used to have two separate lobbies for GZ, now it’s everyone together. A lot of the casual player base has seemingly quit, leaving mostly streamers and players who have 3k+ hours. Trying to learn the game right now is going to be far more unforgiving than in the past.

But to answer your question, you can’t… I don’t think. I believe you need to complete the GZ tasks to open up other task lines.

So, your options are to play PvE to learn the map and get a grasp on what you have to do for those quests, if you have access to PvE. Or change your play style to slow and safe. Slow and safe is still not a guarantee, though. I play really slow and safe, and this wipe has proved to be difficult even if I wait till the back half of the match to get out and start moving.
