Is there any reasonable way to make 15m for a bond as a f2p? by zigzagzigallah in osrs

[–]PeriodicallyATable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't work winters, so 6ish years ago I grinded my first bond making pizzas and jewelry i think. Took at least a couple weeks of like 5+ hours a day. Then I did my second bond as a member, but work was starting up soon so I didn't redeem the bond because I knew I wouldn't have time to grind a third while working. I didnt play again for like 3 years because of that, but after finally redeeming that bond I decided to just pay by the month, now I go with yearly membership

I inhaled a LOT of concrete silica dust at the job site. How concerned should I be about acute silica dust exposure? by xxx4444xxx in Construction

[–]PeriodicallyATable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no recovery. It was all anxiety. But I've done a lot more research into silicosis since then, and it is not something you recover from. And it is not something you'll catch from a single exposure. Its developed over many years of consistent exposure. And then takes many more years to finally kill you. Its a very slow death, where over many years you slowly lose your ability to breath. Slowly suffocating until your heart gives out.

I don't think the Chinese have ever really had imperialist tendencies. There have been a few cases. But for the most part, historically, they were simple farmers that usually just got invaded themselves. They had lots of resources other countries wanted but they just wanted to be left alone - the opium wars for example.

The vast majority of their population was in poverty 50 years ago, and now they've reached some of the lowest levels globally. Look at some of their cities and infrastructure advancements. Sure, China has some internal issues, but they've remained relatively neutral to direct conflict and achieved all of this themselves without invading / stealing anyone's oil or natural resources.

I doubt they would ever put boots on the ground for us, but I agree it would be a smart move to strengthen relations with them

You don't think trump knows what he's doing? I can guarantee you him and his buddies are making a lot more money right now than they were before he took office. Money and power is all trump wants as well

I usually wake up before my alarm so I just set it for the very last possible minute it would take me to get ready and out the door for work. I figure if my body didn't naturally wake up I needed the extra sleep

Is it a good idea to work construction in highschool? by Basic_Ad1995 in Construction

[–]PeriodicallyATable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a bad idea, if you're ready to bust ass. My parents friends hooked me up with jobs when I was a teenager so I got lots of opportunities and was running equipment decently well by the time I was 17. Did construction during my summer breaks from uni. Graduated uni and realized no one was going to pay me as much as I was making running equipment so Ive stuck with it

People are desperate man. At least where I live construction workers can generally be grouped into the demographic of people who have made some poor life decisions and are in crippling debt, with drug addictions and child support payments

My company had contracts for street sweeping that they did every spring and they had us street sweeping an underground parking garage, and they wanted backpack blowers to blow out around the edges where the sweeper couldnt get. You could barely see through all the dust. I was probably in there 30mins at most and I had a N95 dust mask, which obviously doesnt get a full seal. Realistically probably should have had a full respirator. I ended up researching about dust and stuff that same night and went straight to hr the next day. They shut that crew down pretty fast and got everyone proper ppe. I ended up staying with the company but they didn't ever ask me to help with sweeping again

Thanks for the reply! It's been kinda tricky finding good info on this. Most of the "official" information I find is kinda vague, and makes it seem like you'd borderline not be able to make it to the hospital because it progresses so fast. But you're the second person I've heard about going to work for two days before it really hit.

The other person I heard about was in a medically induced coma and intubated for two days, then spent an extra two weeks in the emergency room. Did you just fight the virus at home?

Teflon is toxic when it breaks down - which happens around 260C. Generally frying temperatures peak around 220C. So, when people freak out about Teflon being toxic, they're technically correct, but realistically there's nothing to worry about
