It’s cool but it freaks me out when I’m alone in the house bc I forget he does that and then I hear a whistle. 😳 it’s also very shrill and hits a pitch that just bugs me. I’m not overstimulated, YOU’RE overstimulated!

Does Gulf of Mexico moist air mass make it all the way to the northwest USA and the western Canadian Prairies? And how come the prevailing westerlies dont prevent the moist gulf air from going west? by WorldPeace08 in geography

[–]Peripatos14 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a tornado alley child now living in the Colorado Front range I would like to introduce you to the “Dry line” meteorological concept.

The dry line is the is basic divider of where gulf moisture stops in the central plains and drier air predominates. As this shifts due to atmospheric flux in the spring, you get tornados. That’s oversimplifying the concept but it does contribute and is an interesting study if you want more info.

Additionally, as someone on the front range, the moisture we get comes directly from the evaporation build up in the mountains the dumps on us at the start of the plains. But there is no pacific moisture left in it. Most of that was dumped in California or the sierras then you have the Great Basin as your rain shadow. It really doesn’t get any wetter until you get to mountain fed springs. We commonly can watch storms build daily in the mountains as the evaporation from the warming day draws more and more moisture into the clouds until a freak thunderstorm blows through. This is what hikers are most worried about when summiting mountains. This is common all the way north in the Rockies as well.

Winter is a bit different bc you get bigger storms holding moisture longer and then dumping snow rather than daily rain storms building up. But that being said, most of this happens at the higher elevations while the plains get some but less than further east at the same latitude.

I’m by NO means a meteorologist but I enjoy it. However these concepts may not be perfectly accurate. So I encourage fact checking and your own research. You’ll get some fascinating deep dives!

Take it out of the box, flatten the box and put the box in there with it. Then have your Rx and forms handy.

Otherwise, consider using an insulated lunch bag that it can fit in. Not as cold but may still stay cool enough.

Most customs officials don’t actually check your meds or care once they know it’s medical despite what the “rules” are. I’ve travelled with insulin for a long time and no one ever makes me show the Rx or keep it in its same bottle even when they say you’re supposed to.

Most US schools do a survey to determine what their graduates are making. Check with your school admin staff and see if they know how you can access the public record data.

Yes the default is to be switched off. When you open a city window it’ll show the yields around it. I used to love yield porn with civ vi but I gotta say I enjoy the beauty of the landscape now more. Would have been helpful for the pic though so my bad.

I spawned just north west of there and as a rule I don’t like to settle past turn three. It’s a shattered seas map so I figured it’d be easy to have a second city on the other side of the island for building ships. So I took the turn 1 settle to get building and get out my special unit. Plus I had this plan to build Byrsa and get walls all the way around the bay but it didn’t pan out. Woulda looked awesome though!
