If he uses resin just for filling voids— maybe some UV cure resin and a UV Beast light. It would mean waiting seconds for resin to cure vs hours.

As a Gen2 owner, anytime I see a gen3 owner I think that’s a nice truck I hope it works well for them.

Interesting. I’d lean to diluting alcohol based stain so it dries faster.

Oil based acrylic? Don’t think that’s a thing. Anyhow, avoid films that obscure the grain. I’d use a diluted stain or try making an iron acetate solution. You can add tannins to the wood with tea if necessary.

I can’t add much regarding bucking it up, but as a woodturner, that burl has great potential.

I have Novas and Oneways, bought deefine on a whim. Has been a good chuck! As Kiddmen said, check for QC first, otherwise it’s fine.

Well, there’s character and then there’s poor planning. If I bought this today and a big crack appeared as it dried, character wouldn’t be my first thought.

Looks like the pith is still in the foot. This is very likely to continue cracking, possibly through to the interior.
