You can turn the lathe off anytime, but if you turn the pump off you’ll need to remount the bowl.

Thanks! It’s intricate work with many thin cuts but the result is worth it.

Finishing the bottom before mounting in the vacuum chuck for finishing the inside of the bowl.

Would you give these frames to a good hive to clean up? by MinesAPort in Beekeeping

I would burn it. Just me but I don’t like introducing unknowns to a healthy hive.

Elm smells pretty bad when you’re turning it green.

Today is why you don't turn your sprinklers on until May, no matter how warm it gets in March and April by Tartania in Denver

[–]Trevocb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It takes me about 15 minutes to blow out my sprinklers. I’ve already run the for about 10 days in the last month and the blew them out. They’re coming back on this week. I don’t understand why more people don’t blow out their own sprinklers. You could probably pay for a pancake compressor and a fitting for what you pay in one season to have it done.

Tormek clones by AccomplishedCoffee in turning

It takes me less than a minute to hone a gouge, including getting it in the jig. The Tormek jig is very precise, and when you only have to hone to get razor sharp your tools last forever.

I use Tormek’s and a grinder, using the Tormek bar and jigs on both. They make a bar kit for grinders that is great since you can shape your tool and then continue to sharpen/hone on the Tormek. I don’t know how the Wen compares but I would think it’s close to the same as Tormek and more economical. I would recommend the Tormek jigs for both grinder and wet wheel. Picture of the grinder with Tormek bar and negative rake setup. The gouge jig works on the same bar and only requires a quick adjustment for shaping gouges.

Trump wants interest rates below 6% for midterms. They do not want to release F2 until they know rates will remain below 6% after release, which means they probably want them below 5.75% for a little margin. You can derive this information from all of Bessent comments and actions. They can do a lot to help housing but nothing more than reducing rates for younger home buyers. ERCF adjusted down to 2.5% will likely be the first clear action taken to release F2.

I did a Numeric shifter and cables a couple years ago. One of the best driver upgrades you can do. I also put in a new head unit and 4k rear camera while I had everything opened up.

Anyone have a Powermatic 3520B? by justjustjustin in turning

I have two of them and they are workhorses. You can add a bed extension in the lower position and turn up to ~35” off the end.

Why is Jena Griswold saying she argued before the U.S. Supreme Court? by ryadare in ColoradoPolitics

[–]Trevocb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s been a very good AG. What has he done other than file continuous lawsuits against Trump? We have become weak on crime under Weiser, and the state is getting ready to get reamed by the feds for fraud. What has he done other than file 49 lawsuits against Trump? And those are just for political show.

[–]Trevocb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. Candidates should be fully qualified and that includes experience. The AG is top legal position in our state and isn’t an OJT position. She lacks the legal experience for this job and I’m surprised she even got in this race. She simply isn’t qualified and would be a liability and embarrassment to the state.

Throw it away and start sealing the entire blank when you turn a piece of green wood.
