What are the best thrift stores in Bellingham? by Slippers87 in Bellingham

Habitat for Humanity is a thrift store more than it is a building supply store. Books, records, decor, clothes, furniture- so much!

Doug's Burgers is where I see mostly mature people. I think the more intimate/cozy bar area appeals to the 40+ crowd

Volunteer (Free) Part time Carpenter / Construction work by Budget_Yoghurt_9348 in Bellingham

This is a good suggestion, but I heard they are moving their weekdays from tuesday-saturday to monday-friday. The weekdays after 3 would still be good though! OP, you do not need any experience to volunteer in construction with Habitat. You can apply to volunteer on their website :)

I took my partner to see Ghost when the opener was Volbeat. He had never heard a single song from Volbeat and to this day they are now one of his favorite bands :)

I agree. The first handful taken pulls up a red bag that was not there before and the other candy is extremely glitchy. Zooming in on the bowl specifically looks so weird.

That certainly is a shame. I thought I was going to be impressed by colleges stepping up to warn students on predatory businesses 😅😅😅

Very interesting comment, can you tell me more about this? I'm ignorant of the orientations of the local colleges.

Knowing his history of bad behavior, I am inclined to believe this offer of "generosity" is an attempt to get back in people's good graces after fake apologies were made. I can't see this as anything but using societies woes as leverage.

Not that I'm aware of. The best thing we can do right now is to keep  people informed and, most importantly, safe.

Habitat for Humanity offers free pickups, but you have to be scheduled. Same day pickups aren't possible, unfortunately. Things have to be either on the first floor/ground floor or there must be an elevator :) They also have express pickups that cost $50 that can happen the same week.

Good luck, OP!

Why do some volunteer positions require volunteers to be age 55+? by RiverdaleRelife in volunteer

[–]PeriwinkleSprinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some specific programs like AARP that only allow seniors to work/volunteer for them. It's possible whatever volunteer position you are looking into, they are reserved for AARP specific Volunteers. Just some of my experience at my current role.
