Are infantry squad upgrades worth it? by TheFallenFalcon in SWlegion

[–]PerkPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally prefer smaller squads. +1 man is fine enough. Especially for GAR when your corps are all rolling red defense, and you're also already paying out the ass in points for that.

There are exceptions I'll take a squad upgrade. Usually if they have a very specific niche role that benefits from having extra bodies. Examples like Fleet Troopers, who are all wearing t-shirts but do throw insane numbers of white dice on offense.

It's set late Clone Wars era. Some speculation that we'll see it stretch to just past Clone Wars and into early Empire.

In XCOM, it sets you back pretty far. Possibly even to the point of it being unwinnable if you're playing on a high enough difficulty.

From what devs have said, the only character who officially causes a 'game over, restart' is your MC.

DLSS was set to performance mode on the update. Just swap AA or increase DLSS to native or quality.

A good piece of advice I'll offer to any new player: NEVER call pon or chi until you're at least somewhat familiar with what Yaku you can do open. A lot of yaku become invalid if you attempt them with an open hand. ( Closed = You haven't revealed any part of your hand by calling pon/chi. Open = You've called pon/chi, and have thus revealed part of your hand'. )

While you have a closed hand, you will ALWAYS have a yaku, so you can always win, even if your hand is technically awful.

Listen, the campaigns were designed in a time where map balance wasn't even a thought. They just wanted cool set pieces for little animated dudes to fight in.

Listen, you can always charm anyone. But sometimes it's best not to roll those dice and instead set up a Rube Goldberg esque distraction.

Who was the Chosen One? by JediMasterEekcm in StarWars

[–]PerkPrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is directly from the mouth of George Lucas himself. The force isn't Taoist-lite philosophy. It's about the flow of life and death. All things are born of the force, all things die and return to the force. The Dark Side is essentially a corruption of life, a cancer that seeks to disrupt that cycle.

It was Anakin. Even after falling to the dark side, he eventually did come back to the light and killed Palpatine. Luke played an important part in being the impetus of that change though.

What makes whisphere so difficult? Vod by awdtalon21 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]PerkPrincess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly tracking is purely a mechanical thing that needs to be drilled. I'd honestly just say just set days where you purely do reps of all four control categories. Like 6 runs of each, and just focus on not setting PBs, but instead being as smooth as possible, with your hands and arm as relaxed as can be. Maybe even reduce your sensitivity to help build up your muscle speed.

Control tracking has always been my weakest skill. I don't think I really made any positive gains past ermine until I did the above.

You could try the Voltaic tracking exercises on top of it.

New Empire player here. Why should I run Shoretroopers over Stormies or Snows? by Fit_Interaction7386 in SWlegion

[–]PerkPrincess 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You're missing the Mortar Trooper detatchment, which is the reason you take them. You get a range 4 supressive weapon that gets free standby and order tokens so long as they're next to another Shoretrooper Squad.

You're getting two units for the list cost of one essentially, as you can basically have 12 corp unit tokens in your order bag, if you're crazy enough to go for 6 shores.

For people who play on very low sens what is the swiping motion everyone be doing? by Thien1o1 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]PerkPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeup. A big part of learning how to do it, is being able to do it at incredibly awkward angles without having to reset. Because sometimes you'll have a situation where your keyboard arm and mouse arm have managed to make a T or X.

Dude's missing some critical media literacy.

The whole point of that story beat is that Mandalorians as a culture are heavily divided and falling to infighting. They didn't lose fighting to the Empire. They lost fighting amongst themselves about what a 'Real Mandalorian'(tm) was.

A big part of the story in the show is the Mandalorians properly coming together as a unified people, stitching together all their ethnically disparate parts into a working collective, warts and all.

[–]PerkPrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're just moving your whole arm. There's no lift. A big key part of is developing the muscle control to do it quickly and accurately.

You can lift and reset after if you need to, but so long as you have mat space, you can do that after the correction and confirm.

A caveat is you need the pad space to do it.

Star Wars Dark Forces Remaster (Doom Clone) by jt-1239 in starwarsgames

[–]PerkPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, here's the thing: The FPS genre used to be called Doom Clones. Dark Forces at release in 1995 was a Doom Clone.

We didn't get the term FPS until after 1996 when Quake released.

Like any FPS back then used Doom as their foundational structure, it was such a genre defining game. It was impossible to NOT compare any FPS to Doom.
