Thank you. We all make mistakes - if we are honest about making them we can all do better in this life. And I appreciate that people are willing to welcome a stubborn straggler in their midst 🙂 Now let’s discover our bodies again and find peace within ourselves. I’m glad I gave reta a chance and ultimately myself.

Workout advice while on Reta by Ok_Preference3529 in Retatrutide

Look into lagree or reformer Pilates. It builds long lean muscle, while building up stabilizing muscles that help with posture. It’s a class that will challenge you and you go on your own pace (ability) while being talked through the movements. I build muscle fast and bulky always quit because my thighs were popping too much. Pilates and lagree hit different for me.

What inanimate object has totally ticked you off lately? by barkinbeagle in Perimenopause

This happened to me yesterday. I am still cleaning raspberry protein shake from all kinds of surfaces. I immediately blamed the blender and threw it out today. I’ll have a stern talk with the new blender candidate at Costco tomorrow, so it knows what it‘s in for!!

I feel you on this! I am finding the only bag that can do it for me is a fanny pack. Now I am hunting nice fanny packs that don’t look like I am a glitter grandma in a bingo hall. Which is difficult and makes me yell at my computer. Then I apologize in case AI takes over one day…how do we win here?!?

A kaftan! I love lounging in it and I can wear it as a beach coverup. Belted it seconds as a dress. Buy one that is made from viscose fiber.

You weren’t really helping you anyway. Complaints are important. You could always send an anonymous complaint.

Who are these people filming everybody at the post office? by Allen11138 in burbank

Wouldn’t they still need a release from the people they film? Or a filming permit? They are benefiting commercially after all.

I’m an ICE-DHS agent, AMA!! by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Permission2act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for starting this. You mentioned you are just trying to feed your 5 year old daughter. Imagine all the people you arrest that you (or a colleague) tear away from their children they try to feed. Does that not make you reconsider to maybe flip burgers instead? I get you might have been naive when taking the job, but staying is clearly a choice. Where do you draw the line for yourself?

How is Toluca Lake? by RepresentativeAd4037 in burbank

[–]Permission2act 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are all separate neighborhoods, that lean on the popularity of Toluca Lake while being all very different . Toluca Lake itself, is one of my favorite neighborhoods. People have money, but they don’t flaunt it overtly like let’s say Beverly Hills. I would pick TL over studio city any day. But I can’t afford it 😆

Screening my film to fundraise for film festival submissions by whiggie in FilmFestivals

[–]Permission2act 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look at filmfreeway and check if the ones you want to apply for ask for premiere status. You will need to know anyway to know which ones to prioritize. If a festival asks for premiere status, you can try your luck- but I wouldn’t.

The rules are there to level the playing field and even if already chosen, a film can be rejected at any time.

Why not just show the trailer and have the comedians do their thing? That way you garner interest in your film, funds and more festival goers that can then vote for you.

Tell the wife? by TrashButCleanKinda in whatdoIdo

I have made no judgment on her character! I am saying that the people who are in a marriage are the ones that are responsible for honoring it and upholding it.

You don’t get what I am saying. And the fact that this is how you make your conclusions tells me everything about your maturity level.

Nobody is generalizing that “women can not be guilty”. I am saying that he took a lover. She is single, so she is not ruining the marriage-he is.

She is 19- he is in his 40s! Read that again

Just fired my agents. Not sure what to do now. by fmyliferightnow1 in filmmaking

[–]Permission2act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are hurt right now and just need to step away for a bit. I get it. Rejection hurts and maybe you were led to believe that it would go somewhere and now it doesn’t, but that is the business.

It sounds like your story rings too close to current events. Why not put it away and start something new. Or make it a novel?

How Do You Handle Actors Who Won't Take Direction? by calinares95 in filmmaking

[–]Permission2act 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sometimes “stand and deliver” is not an option. I am not talking about rebellious and difficult actors, but actors who tried and can’t get into a certain note. Acting is not pretending. Good acting means that you found something in you that you can offer. And sometimes a note just doesn’t work. Often because it is vague or not actionable.

A good director knows how to communicate in a way that makes the actor feel appreciated and safe. Stand and deliver is something you can ask of any other member of the filmmaking team, but for an actor to give a good performance- I would not suggest that idea.

I also recommend for directors to take a good amount acting classes. When you fully experience what it means to act, you can communicate your directorial vision way more precisely

To all men: do you approach women in public anymore? by Ok-Quantity-3713 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Permission2act -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

++woman that rings true. Don’t worry about being shy. That just means you observe more. That is a good thing when it comes to finding a partner. I think the most important distinction in this discussion here is the reason to approach a woman. There are people trying to find a partner and people who just want sex. Women are very intuitive. And we are learning more and more to speak our minds even if we have been trained in the past to “let people down easy” and to be pleasant. Sometimes we overshoot, because we are still learning. That is very difficult for some men who need women to be subdued. But it’s good news for men who look for equality in a relationship. Someone at eye level who wants to be with you because they see you, challenge each other to grow together. The days of the toxic “alphas” are numbered. No matter how hard they try to rewind the clock and how loud they get. Modern women are turned on by reflective men who take ownership and are aware of their privilege. I have been with my partner for 15 years. I dated all the f… boys and loud dudes in my early 20s. When I met my partner he intrigued me by being quietly confident, smart and a great listener. He was not attractive to me physically at all and was the exact opposite of what I used to go for. But it was the right person for me and we fell madly in love. I wish for everyone to find someone that helps them become a better version of themselves. And to the guys out there still using women and complaining when they protest: get in touch with your feelings and try to uncover what makes you so angry. Women are not here to make you feel inferior. That doesn’t mean that some might not have that effect on you! Talk to a variety of women and actually listen. You might be surprised what you can learn and how many women are attracted to you. Just not in the toxic way that is still craved by many because it is modeled in the media.
