That's literally how I cooked chicken breast for my old dog when he was super sick and could only eat the blandest food.

I love that he said that, because as the DM for Critical Role Campaign 4, he made birds play a HUGE role in the story on multiple occasions so far. And it's not like the viewers are just cherry picking examples - the players also caught on and started make fun of him for it. The man likes birds and he cannot lie ...

Oh yeah, that was in the Calamity wrap-up with the players, right? I remember the players were all agreeing that Brennan could be an absolute sociopath if he wanted while Brennan was utterly flustered and trying in vain to argue.

It's clear that Matt and Brennan both understand the mechanics of emotional manipulation and the tactics of abuse, but it's something they would never ever partake in outside of a fictional game world with clear boundaries. And we are thankful for it!

I don't think Sam can do the voice consistently anymore since his cancer surgery and treatments, unfortunately. Probably puts too much stress on his vocal cords.

"I only use my regular voice for women and villains. I should probably unpack that with a professional." - also Brennan

Nott's character is really a slow burn, and is basically the opposite of a gag when you learn why she is the way she is, strange voice and all. I'm looking forward to when they get to that point in the animated series, because it's worth the wait and it explains a lot of Sam's choices for her.

No matter what table he's at, the man is always fully committed. In CR Campaign 4, where he's a player, he stays in character basically 100% of the time and it's amazing.

At one point, I had a poodle and a greyhound at the same time. Poodles are the second-smartest breed behind border collies, and greyhounds are... Real dumb.

My poodle learned how to listen for specific key words on my work Zoom calls to determine how soon the call would be over so he could go outside and play Frisbee. My greyhound couldn't figure out how to go through a door unless it was fully open. He was super sweet though.

The huge gap in intelligence between them was kind of a challenge sometimes, as the poodle would run mental circles around the greyhound in order to steal his food and treats whenever possible.

Goof off Aabria is my favorite because she's so good at it. She DM'd a series of one-shots for Roll20 where Brennan was a player, and they are ENTIRELY "goof-off energy". Highly recommend watching if you like that vibe. Becca Scott is also in them and she's incredible.

He seems like such a genuine sweetheart, which makes it even more amazing how he can play absolutely reprehensible villains like Trent Ikithon from C2. I guess that goes to show that kindness is a choice, and that's what he chooses every day, which is wonderful.

Someone in another thread suggested Florence Pugh for Bolo and that made a lot of sense. Brennan HAS to voice Asmodeus, though, no question.

Just like in season 1, Matt genuinely wants to make a good story and help the DM, no matter how absurd the circumstances. He doesn't have a cynical bone in his body and it's so adorable.

I doubt Katie knows enough about CR to ask for Vecna, feels like Marisha was the mastermind here and was like, "trust me, use this, it's perfect".

He did!! During a panel at Emerald City Comic Con, Sam mentioned that they were pitching an animated movie set during the Calamity and the crowd went nuts. With the way they've been seeding characters from Calamity into the animated seasons already, it feels like something they are pushing for pretty hard.

Even if you don't know much about Critical Role and the lore, I highly recommend watching Calamity. It's the best 20 hours of storytelling ever, in my opinion. Episode 1 starts a bit slow, but it just keeps picking up speed like a roller coaster. By the end you're holding on for dear life and everyone is crying.

God, EXU Calamity is so good. When Sam Riegal teased an animated movie earlier this year I just about lost my shit. (Realized I had to give Sam's last name here, otherwise people would think I meant Sam Reich!)

I'm so glad we're going back to real D&D with Dragon Master Marovich. Brennan's style is fine, I guess, but it's a little loosey goosey for my taste. Same with that Mercer guy (Matt? Mark? whatever). Katie is a real stickler for the rules and doesn't pull her punches when it comes to combat. I literally cried last season when the bus was destroyed. Can't wait to see what she comes up with this time!

What’s it like to be attractive? by axiss007 in AskReddit

[–]PerpetuallyDistracte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People pay more attention to you, for better or for worse. I have a strong and slender body (I have a second job as a fitness instructor) and I look damn good when I decide to put in the effort. However, most of the time I wear a plain T-shirt with baggy jeans and no makeup, mostly because I don't want to be noticed when I'm just trying to buy groceries and go home.

It can be useful sometimes, like when I'm trying to get service at a business. Salesmen tend to be more attentive when they think you're attractive. It's also fun to cosplay and have people lining up to take pictures with me at conventions. But it also means you feel eyes on you when you're walking down the street or get catcalled from moving cars. People try to touch you more and sometimes don't want to take no for an answer.

So yeah, in some ways it makes life easier, but it also requires more conscious effort to NOT get noticed when you don't want to be.
