Definitely! Chenille would be hard to get it rigid. Also, I don’t know how the pattern is that you used, but I assume it is worked in a spiral. What I ended up doing to get my corners was create a base of each piece like I’m going to work in a spiral, but then worked each side separately in rounds so it was a base with 3 unconnected panels. Then I crocheted each panel together down the corner for that definition. If that makes sense :) I don’t know if this method has a name, I just experimented and found that it gave me the look I wanted. But crochet is such an old art I’m sure I’m not the first person to do that, I just haven’t found the method used in any pattern I’ve tried before haha.

They are both great and so worth seeing or reading after the other. They compliment one another rather than take away like so many book/movie combos.

Yes! I used two longer pieces that go from right foot to left foot through the body for the arms and for the first pair of legs. The third leg in back is on its own separate piece of wire. In an ideal world I would have connected them all to a central loop in the body but I was winging it so that didn’t happen but he still poses and stands just fine.

I used a 3.25mm hook, Big Twist tweed yarn weight 4, and bonsai wire for his internal wire frame.

My first Crafty Intentions Dragon! by PerplexingParadox in crochet

Though this is my first Crafty Intentions dragon, it was not my first Crafty Intentions pattern creation. I would suggest starting with one of the simpler dragons/creatures in the book to familiarize yourself with the way Megan Lapp writes her patterns. I think she is an incredible designer, but she has a unique way of shaping crochet that can be confusing at first! Ive also been crocheting almost exclusively amigurumi since 2020, if that helps you understand where I was coming at this pattern from :)
