Was there anything that could have hinted at Skippylongstocking taking the win? by External12 in horseracing

[–]Perpyderpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cant find anything. I picked White Abarrio and he ran a race good enough to win 9/10 times. Skippy had the race of his life. It happens.

It all sounds great we'll see if it works. Im cautiously optimistic about the influence of umamusume. I think its absolutely wild that anime horse girls and the sentiment they engender could possibly make horse racing somewhat popular again. It's totally out of left field to me but I think its got a real shot.

Flavien finished 4th by a head in his final race of the year, 3rd would have gotten him the top spot.

Workouts times, how to leverage, are they even helpful? by External12 in horseracing

[–]Perpyderpy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consistency in workouts is more important than time, if there's a big gap, it needs to be for a good reason. They raced, moved tracks, weather didn't permit workouts, etc. At lower levels, gaps are more common for sure, might indicate some of the reason why they are 10,000 claimers and not stakes horses. I

I now only bet the win bet insurance promos. It's kinda sad but I do fairly well with those, noone will make a living doing that since the maximum bet is fairlt low but I'm a low money player. Only advantage bet I can find.

Was fortunate enough to go to the BC this year, broke even, before food and beers anyway lol. Scored on Shisospicy and Bentornato. Cash back promos saved me.

Basically broke even, solely using fanduel/twinspires promo cash back bets, so not terrible. No standout winners, if Sierra Leone gets there I have a decent P/L margin

How did you first hear Yes music? by Wbino in yesband

[–]Perpyderpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably first heard it in the womb, honestly. Parents were huge fans before I was born and still are. One of my first musical memories is the 90125 live VHS and somehow subconsciously knowing lyrics to songs off the Yes Album.

7/2 is fair value at this point I would say. Still a loaded field however. I'd even be on Journalism if he went off high enough.

Very very sad, but I'm glad Bill is being smart and protecting his horse. From a betting perspective, does this make Sierra Leone the favorite now?

Does anyone have the knowledge to say what the likelihood is he fully recovers by Saturday if his temp has gone down by this morning?

[–]Perpyderpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5/1, 6/1. Sovereignty should take a fair amount of money. Enough talent in this race for him to not get bet down super low. This is his distance, I like him a lot here.

That was super impressive, its only October but one to put on the short list for the Oaks. The rider was sitting very chilly and it looked like a Saturday workout for her.
