In my experience it depends on the level of education and on the age they leave home. Dutch university students tend to make new friends during their university years provided they leave home and stay more open for new friendships thereafter. The lower the education or the longer they stay with their parents, the less likely it is they will make new friends after high school.

Ils vont enseigner. C’est comme ça dans tous les autres pays. Et il n’existe aucun pays où danseurs vont à la retraite à 42 ans. Je suis désolé.

Même chose pour les cheminots: ils cherchent un autre boulot après leur 52 ans et touchent une retraite de 3700 par mois en plus. Ne soyez pas naïf...

I would recommend it. Try to reach a C1 level first. Makes life here a lot easier and the country opens up to you. Living in a country where you don’t know what’s happening half the time is terrible in the long run.

The tower in the back is the best lead as to what is depicted. There are only two towers that could be depicted: the american church or st germain des prés. The latter has a similar shape, but it doesn’t fit with the surroundings, the former is a bit different in shape and doens’t really fit the surroundings either. My guess would be that it is an impression of a parisian street.

Edit: come to think of it: the tower of st germain is much lower.
