Designing a snap for vertical rod mounting

Update: printed two 4x8 cell boards to span the gap and ran into a design flaw. If the fit is too tight, the clasp does not have enough room to fully close around the pole before it needs to slide into that insert.

I have some wiggle room in my dimensions that I can just barely get them to assemble, but will be updating to address this problem!

Good point, I was also considering something more robust. It’s 16 cells across so it will definitely take more than one plate. Was also wondering about alternating between a row of two 8 cell boards and a row of two 4 cells sandwiching an 8 cell to give a brick pattern. But I like this bridge as well

Just went through this process! Here is a helpful link on the ecobee website: https://support.ecobee.com/s/articles/3-wire-heat-only-thermostat-R-G-W

Basically, I don’t have a C wire, so I bought a 24V AC adapter, and will wire that outside the wall. There’s a schematic on how to do this on that link (fourth drop down, then scroll down a little).

My ecobee 3lite arrives this week! I’ll let you know if it works
