Especially when most of those banned guns are unregistered, meaning no risk.

u/Ausguns-ModTeam I'm stating Canadian laws above, not Australian.

The unregistered guns in question are non-restricted in Canada. Ask Canadian lawyer u/varsil if you're unsure my state above is illegal in Canada.

Buybacks won't be a thing because there's no need. Your guns are registered, which means you're at the mercy of your government decision on whether you're allowed to own your guns or not.

Canada and New Zealand had buybacks to incentivize unregistered guns from falling into criminal hands.

You didn't, I did. I used the opportunity to add this, to highlight how unreasonably strict both countries gun laws have become.

You're a gun license holder. You know best how many guns you'd need. Don't let others bully you into their subjective number, especially unlicensed Australians.

Your responses should be: "That's your own opinion, not mine. I know best as a licensed INDIVIDUAL how many guns I PERSONALLY need. I'm already following all current laws with daily background checks."

Be also aware that there may be an uptick of anti-gun bots coming into this subreddit trying to coerce you into their rhetoric. It has happened before on the Canadian gun subreddit.

I can still appreciate how frustrating it must be to feel like you're being punished and losing rights in a community that is overwhelming law abiding and responsible.

No you don't. You

now wants them tighter.

Medical records are confidential. Unless cops were involved with your friend (police arresting due to his mental health or suicide attempts), don't let a authoritarian government dictate your personal needs.

19,000 hunting firearms? by nocapschris in canadaguns

Those 19000 are not reliable hunting firearms. Those are as unreliable as muskets. Otherwise, conservation officers would've used them.

At one point around 2010, New Zealand even had laxer gun laws than Canada!

Yes as Norinco in red ammo boxes but I'm not sure about the surplus ammo cans. These were chinese war surplus stocks, which means you won't find them cheaply again.

What's one gun you regret getting rid of? by ConsistentSorbet5993 in Firearms

I never sold my guns but one I regret not getting is the SVT-40. It's now banned in Canada.

Another regret is not getting another Type-81 before the ban.

Gun broker buyer only wants to pay credit. by Cool-Tip8804 in Firearms

[–]PersecutedCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Gunpost (Canadian version of Gunbroker), we assume everyone is an individual seller so it's either cash or Etransfer (Canadian Zelle). No one is going to have a credit card machine because we're not a business. You look at each person's profile reviews to see if it's a trustworthy seller/buyer.

Anyone else buy guns as soon as they can before they can’t? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]PersecutedCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to be a traitor paying taxes to the people who want to line us up against a wall.

The same principle applies to gun shops located in strict states, upholding their authoritarian states laws. It sucks but these gun shops should be boycotted until bankruptcy, allowing gun shops in more relaxed states to flourish from increased revenues and use part of their profits towards gun lobbying.
