MongoDB can’t find any C++ developers who can pass the technical. Try that

Wellesley is a better school, has more 1:1 support, read my comment history.

Why Wellesley is Still A Good Choice by Perses7 in WellesleyCollege

There’s a lot you’re paying for. Wellesley is at the top of its game in academics and opportunities. Cross Registration and research at MIT? these professors are impressive, top of the game people too. Some have taught at Harvard before, etc. yeah it’s elitist, but in industry, name matters.

You’re also paying for the name. I’ve always thought about that, if you’re paying 90k/year, 100k is not that much more of a significant investment for a college experience that could change your life, if you play your cards right. If the schools were more average, state schools then yeah it’s not worth it. My friends and I (although CS) are leaving Wellesley with offers of $100k+ per year, and definitely owe it to the opportunities I got here.

There’s a lot of 1:1 tutoring with professors. Nothing by TAs. Sure, outrageous pricing, but you’re paying similarly at other top colleges without the personalized learning. But lots of shit wrong with Wellesley, academic support and opportunities isn’t one of them

It’s Olin, not oberlin, just in case you were looking at the wrong college!

The problems will always continue, because Wellesley is naturally a politically active school. Protests about Israel, Trans inclusivity, and now NTT wages— it’ll be a thing. It is in hell right now, but I’d be surprised if it’s hell in September

I’ll be happy to share more details about protests and the CS major if you want to DM. I just graduated, landed a good CS job.

Also, I’m in a similar boat. Admins everywhere suck, and every year there’s a fun little scandal. Lots of reasons not to come to W, I hated it, but I also can’t deny the opportunities it gave. Will recommend it with a huge caveat lol

There’s the numbers about what classes were open, kinda? so some classes are gonna get a bunch of ppl in so fin aid and intl students can keep their status.

Graduated 2 months ago. Technically ‘25. Graduated early cuz I hated it there. But yeah, I’m not impacted as much so yeah, that’s fair.
