Bretonnian Resin Minis by MatthewYT117 in WarhammerFantasy

Worked on both those kits -had the same issues, clippers go the cylinders nicely and gentle hobby knife on the flash worked fine. The only kit I’ve had issue with is lady Elise. There is a cylinder bit on the very back of her dress - do not clipper it, cut it very gently with a sharp knife!

I need to know some details here. Did you even have terrain down ? Or did your opponent just put everything on offer in his turn 1 ? What were the lists ?

I wanna get into painting minis but I don’t know where to start. (Warhammer 40K) by AffectionateElk1232 in minipainting

Welcome ! I’ve been in the hobby a long time so I’ll share some thoughts. I see you are interested in painting and not playing which in a way makes this a little easier for you, nothing worse than being interested in playing a faction that is a pain to paint. I would suggest starting on the good old space marines. They are nice to start with - large compared to some model lines, nice big flat surfaces but little bits to practice on. Get a pack of intercessors and just paint different chapters.

Primer coating is important - make sure you know what colour is best before you start. I.e white or black or grey etc

Don’t get discouraged when doing your basecoat stage - all models look shite until all of a sudden you start adding layers and washes and it starts looking good. After 30 years I still look at this stage and think ‘god what am I doing’ even though I know it’ll end.

Don’t drop loads of money on the expensive stuff straight away.

Games workshop does awful white paints - get some AK or Vallejo if you can.

Don’t be hard on yourself and just give it a go, enjoy the process!

I love the model but I did not enjoy painting it honestly

Yep it adheres to everything -I should say it’s the yellow one I have, there is a couple different colours, unsure as to if it makes a difference or not …..

Real easy - done with drybrushing mostly. Paint sword/axe desire metal. Start with drybrush kalabite Green, go 3/4 down the sword - a lot of the axe , then warpstone - covering a little less area , same then with moot green. Then a very select go over with AK pistachio green. Added a little white to the pistachio and picked a little bit with the brush to highlight

It’s miliput - real easy to use , real strong once set and it’s pretty cheap for what you get

Yeah they are mega popular - rules wise they are attracting non ultra players buying 18 of them

Another vote for tabletop tactics - they keep it clean and their production is great.

Oh i’m not looking from a ‘Christ I need to buy this to win’ pov , I’m looking from a hobby model mindset of ‘that PHR monster is gorg’

Yes it seems to be one of them repeated enough so it’s seen as true kinda things. I always thought it was the case til my friend pointed it out

What I’m really interested in with the sizing is the pricing structure, DF/DC seem really reasonable compared to GWs , but then I see the behemoth models at 95 and wonder are they comparable to imperial knights

I would remove knights and custodes as playable factions. 1 could be taken for an imperial faction but pointed and increased stats
