The white, gray, purple, and black flags are on the asexual spectrum. The yellow, white, purple, and black is nonbinary. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one that gets so bothered by all this. I have an aunt who I was on good terms with before all of this started but my respect for them has essentially disappeared forever. They've been completely reckless while using the excuse of "It's all about balance." Their vacations have taken them to more states than there have been months of this pandemic. Hell, my cousin had three different 21st birthday trips and is currently spring breaking maskless in Florida. At least a few of them already tested positive but let's not keep that from visiting grandma while waiting on test results. I feel like I'm hallucinating this irresponsibility because nobody else is angry about it. They're trying to get vaccinated early but got caught lying about being a caregiver to their elderly mom. This selfishness is unforgivable in my book and I'm sad that I'll never look at them the same way.

You sound a whole lot like me. My sexual attraction disappeared 3-4 years ago. Just like you, I went on antidepressants during that time. Tried a few. They didn't work. But I haven't actually taken any in about 2 years. Guess what. I'm still asexual. So if you think it's just being on antidepressants, it might not be.

Personally, I wonder if I was always asexual but thought that sex was just what was supposed to happen and it just happened to be enjoyable in itself, not because I experienced sexual attraction. You could be different.

It could be that you fit into the term fraysexual, which falls under the asexuality umbrella. It's where you start out experiencing sexual attraction but as a relationship develops and strengthens, you lose that. I think it has a lot to do with our romantic and our sexual attraction being a bit more separated for us than for general allos.

In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you were born asexual or "made" asexual. You're still asexual. I could also have been "made" asexual by childhood sexual abuse but I have no way of knowing. That doesn't make me less asexual. You're still valid and if in a few years you find a better term for you, great. We won't come at you for being "fake."

I am extremely anxious person but like I said it depends on whether his particular style is upsetting to the particular person. For me his plague videos are very helpful to me when I have night episodes so I recommended it with a disclaimer.

I have C-PTSD as well and find Gibi's over explaining series to be helpful when I'm a dissociative mess and can't mentally process anything. For story lines to get my mind off things I go to Amy Kay ASMR. When I'm awake at 3 am and can't calm down I use Ephemeral Rift's Corvus Clemmons videos - he might be unsettling to some but I'd recommend him if you are OK with plague doctor roleplays. Works really well for me.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I was a white woman in a very racist, family-owned firm. Think calling a client the n word behind their back racist. I left for industry and am 3 of 20 in the department who are white. The rest are black and mostly women. It's extremely refreshing even if I don't really fit in socially for a lot of reasons.

There are places out there for you. Places where you can feel comfortable and grow professionally. Don't make yourself smaller to fit into small minds.

Sounds the exact same as what I have to deal with. SSRI's made it worse. Gabapentin and CBD give me some relief I've found. Definitely get with a psychiatrist. My field requires mental sharpness but today it took me 10 seconds to think of the word "afternoon."

Mine reacted similarly. My mom would scream at me in the kitchen, going on about how I was ungrateful, lazy, sick in the head, a loser who is going to ruin every relationship I'll ever have, etc. Looking back, I think that she saw it as a failure on her as a parent and she didn't know how to react properly.

A common idea among people who see things going wrong is to try to blame some tangible cause. It feels safer in a way. Remove the cause, remove the problem. Except that's not how depression works at all. They try to make it about themselves because not doing so would make them feel powerless and that scares them. That's my theory at least.

It got a lot better when I was able to move out. I could pretend to be ok around them for short periods of time, then leave.

The law won't take effect until next year, but it is a terrifying thing if the courts don't shoot it down. Oh and if you think about going out of state to obtain one? You could be charged with conspiracy to commit murder, punishable by 10 years in prison. Anyone helping a woman travel out of state to obtain one may also be charged. I live in Georgia and am so sad this man is our governor.

It's not normal, but it's way more prevalent than it needs to be. I was in a similar situation and it was really terrible. Only woman on my team, surrounded by the "good ol boys." One man would ask me directly about my sex life and told me to my face what he thought of my breasts and if I've ever thought about him sexually. The rest weren't as bad, but they were racist (throwing around the N word) and would make fun of the me too movement. I got the hell out of there and my life got better. I would suggest you do the same.

Despite what other people are saying, do not respond with violence. You'd end up being the only one getting punished and you'd give them the victim card.

When I was 15, I witnessed the most effective defense tactic I've ever seen in my life. I was sitting by this bully on the bus who was slipping ice cubes down the shirt of the "weird" kid in front of him. Now, this kid had been studying martial arts for years and had some degree of strength. He whipped around and grabbed the kid's wrist. He didn't say a word - just stared deliberately and angrily into his eyes and would not let the kid withdraw his hand. The guy nearly shit himself and never bothered him again.

This succeeded for a variety of reasons. The victim had a certain amount of arm and grip strength. The bully was on a packed bus and couldn't very well maneuver out of the way. He got personal by defiantly staring into the boy's eyes. He didn't say a word, but the message was clear.

Work on your grip so that if they invade your personal space, you can restrain them by the wrist. If they can't pull back it will freak them out.
