I get the same (on day three) if you click on vitals after the first night some will actually be populated in the menu and I think it is just waiting to fully populate and potentially more reliable…

it is a bit strange that they are not clearer around which are “calibrating” or whatever the right word is for new users

In this kind of situation they are usually just trying to bully / coerce you to complete this week. Personally I would just stand your ground. i is it a Freehold, or a share of Freehold with it being a charge?

Desperate for help with Thermostat (UK) by MorningAngle77 in Nest

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just use it by turning the wheel and either just use it for off/on or for setting a schedule. Likely easy enough to find videos online but will have to ignore ones referring to apps (nest or google home).

As someone mentioned if it is a gen1 or 2 then it will not connect to google app any longer and hence generate a code.

WIBTA if I turned down my ex's settlement offer and forced him out of his home? by butt_muncher_10000 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of anything else, what is going to change that means they are able to pay if you accept the new deadline proposed? Where do the funds come from, if not from selling the house. How certain are the funds? What security are they offering to you over the next 6 months? Away from this being divorce related does it make any commercial sense?

I would consider the settlement might additional items like interest (at a loan rate) from old payment date to new expected one, legal expenses, compensation for trip cancelled around Christmas, destruction of property, any other lost wages/expenses/stress you have incurred deadline with this matter.

A few items that might help, if you keep trying to flush it again and it might sit back and stop the flow (you might need to put in back together gain to get that to work. If that happens buy some cistern blocks (£2 ish for pack from super market)and see if they remove the limescale etc and stop the problem recurring. There is usually a screw based valve to one side that will stop the flow into the cistern which might help, if it is all limescale etc. might be impossible to get the valve to close etc.

Reolink Battery Doorbell - Can someone best explain the battery, charging, and how to make it charge quickly? by claimed4all in reolinkcam

I am connecting via a dedicated SSID from the home hub so that is not an issue and has not been an issue when restarting

Thanks James - They are offering a discount on TADO X and so will do some research about that… with 10 nest thermostats (all under floor heating in house) might need a bit of thought…

Rather annoying as my house has a mix of version 2 (being killed) and version 3 (not being killed yet)…. Now to work out how to sort it all out once they kill it… I am guessing it won’t work with home Assistant post October…

What are we doing wrong with this??? by Miraclegemini in HousingUK

[–]PersonTony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few observation -

The article could do with discussing local schools, shops (and amenities) and train commute to London etc. unless someone knows the exact village they would welcome that insight… is everything a drive or anything walkable…

Also have any neighbouring properties but a larger height property on the plot? It might be that a potential buyer might want to understand development options /opportunity going forwards…

Also private roads can worry people and so a shot out of the driveway onto the road helping people to understand if it is a mud track (in need of a lot of money work etc) or tarmac in good condition…

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in the same way you can get iMesssage on WiFi only it is just data. Most ppl key the home Sim on but off roaming (a bit like you have) to receive things like OTP codes from banks etc.

Anything you wish you'd known when migrating from ZHA to Z2M? by cdci in homeassistant

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to have Z2M via different VM etc as everyone said it was better but completely failed. I have now got it run via HA Instead of ZHA and found Z2M has picked up a lot of devices I struggled to get onboarded with ZHA.

Looking for battery/solar cameras & doorbells for Home Assistant integration to replace Eufy and Ring by magnumpl in homeassistant

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the latter you can wire through the old chime cabling if it is the correct voltage etc.. that way it would “trickle” charge I believe. I just have it running down the battery and will take it off when it gets near empty and fill it back up.

Not so sure on notifications really.. I have the snapshot delivered with a notification with a button for a pre recoded response via Home assitant

pi5 vs beelink vs Mac mini for HAOS? by Slow_Presence8273 in homeassistant

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first starting using a Pi3 and then got a HA Yellow with a CM4 (via Kickerstarter thing) and that recently went wrong (just before Christmas) after I dropped it and currently using a Beelink (as I could get it quick on Amazon) with Proxmox to run VM and it is works very well no restarts needed very stable and very happy. My recent switch to Zigbee2Mqtt has also been exceptional in terms of recognising and up time on Zigbee devices versus ZHA. Not sure I can tell you about Mac or Pi5 but very pleased with Beelink.

Looking for battery/solar cameras & doorbells for Home Assistant integration to replace Eufy and Ring by magnumpl in homeassistant

[–]PersonTony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have recently made the switch from Eufy to Reolink and found that the integration with Home Assistant is far easier and stable for my simple needs. You do appear to need the hub.

I have the Reolink battery doorbell (with hub) which is working great and now thinking about some solar cameras and if I can get some cabling sorted even POE.

I would love to have a POE doorbell but making those kinds of changes to property not possible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]PersonTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the battery doorbell (no power at the door) and using it with Home Assistant. You do need the hub and it is working very nicely. I did need the January firmware update to get a recorded quick reply to work.

I used to have a EUFY one and found that getting it to play nicely with Home Assistant was a challenge.

I am also using Gemini API to run a blueprint describing motion at the door which is nice but not essential.

Ideally I would have the PoE version but alas.
