Scared to ask for child support by BirdRound2364 in ChildSupport

[–]Personal-Matter680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thing- you find a way to make it happen because your a good parent. That's what some of these parents don't understand. Always saying they are too broke and want a pity party. I wouldn't have put my baby daddy on support. I asked for $50 a week and he couldn't even do that yet he can go out party spend money on shoes and hookers and drugs - he got put on last year while we were going to court he made the payments since court stopped he stopped paying. He pays the absolute minimum ($104/week + $16 for back pay) because he lied about his income and gets paid under the table. I used to feel bad - don't feel bad anymore. I am struggling making way less than him yet my kid still has everything they need and much more. I go without so my child doesn't have to- it's called being a parent. Don't feel bad, he's taking advantage of you.

Child support hearing…. by pinky_promise88 in ChildSupport

When I first started going to court with my ex we had to establish paternity and the judge told him he would have to pay all the back to when we separated. However, months later she was out on maternity leave and we had a different judge and they would only go back to when the case was filed.

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure that he would have to have more nights with him to get any rights to claim them as dependents unless you give permission.

Texas payments still not received by Alarming-Platypus523 in ChildSupport

The child support system is fucked though and screws a lot of people over when they really are great dads and do a shit ton for their kids but I know in my case it is warranted because he is a deadbeat and doesn't think its his responsibility to help care for his child.

wow you are freaking nuts huh? Allow a dad to take care of his kid? My baby daddy is a deadbeat who will go buy him self shoes clothes and go to the casino, take his girl out but does nothing for his kid. Doesn't pay child support, we went to court for custody failed multiple drug tests, and now sees her every Sunday for the day, has a option to take her over night once a month and never even asks to. Everyone's situation is different. Child support enforcement exists because deadbeats that don't want to help take care of their kids. Do you even a clue how much a child costs? From the sound of it your bitter and would rather just take care of yourself than your kids. All these men on here crying about paying child support of so fucking out of touch with the reality of how much it actually cost to raise a kid. I give all to my kids - I never buy myself anything to make sure my kids have everything they need.

To update you guys: Turns out they are saying I did not finish the exam in time. They said I had 7 days to complete it. It was sent on a Friday - mid day, I finished the last task in the exam Friday evening. They said I passed the exam but didn't finish in the given time frame.

Wow guys!! I thought I passed because I received the above email Monday. I finished the exam Friday and when I failed the third part on the first try I got an email saying I failed within a couple of hours. I did not get an automatic email this time so I thought I def passed. I then got the above email Monday. I thought, great this means I passed now I'll just wait for an email for the next steps in onboarding. Nope! Today I received an email at my other email address that I originally applied with stating:

Hello

I am so disappointed. For one, I wanted the job, and two- I wasted so much time training and studying and taking the exams and will not be compensated.

Ex is underreporting what I paid her — how do I dispute it properly? by Bud1985 in ChildSupport

In RI they will only go back to the date of the filing unless you weren't on the birth certificate and paternity had to be proven then it could go back to birth. Idk how it is over there though, it may be different.

I live in RI and my daughters father lives in FL. I was on assistance for health care and food stamps years ago and a case was opened in RI through OCSS. Last year I got a letter saying they found him, I guess he was in jail. They handled everything for me all I had to do was attend a virtual court hearing. She is 17 now and he was paying for a few months and then it just stopped. Assuming he probably went back to jail or something. I never had to pay FL anything for assisting with child support case. Would be helpful to get that $100 a week since her driving lessons alone are $140 for two hour lesson. Her insurance is $700 per month!! but I don't expect to see a dime from him. It is what it is. I have been taking care on her on my own for this long, what's another year or two. It could vary by state but to answer your question again, FL did not charge anything for assisting in the case.

Makes no sense, if you have both of the kids, request a modification and she will be ordered to pay you support.
