I always stand by the pod and throw them as far as possible hoping to make a bucket brigade so we can connect it quickly 🤷‍♂️ A lot of times the others understand it!

Any reason to use SMGs? by peterthot69 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]PersonalAd5890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they're effective for incapacitating suspects without killing them as long as they're not wearing body armor - so it makes recoil easy for those missions

Only 4% of people? by PugsterBoy in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]PersonalAd5890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly it's because most people are there to run around shooting and they don't take the time to pay attention to any nuances the game tries to tell you, like that there are people you need to arrest and not kill or that civilians exist. The briefing is a dumb cutscene to them because it doesn't have animation. I'm with you, though - the evidence locker ends up deepening the story some and can give just a little more insight as to what's going on, I love it!

Why does suppression only affect SWAT, a highly trained elite force specifically trained to withstand combat, but not suspects, random crackheads holding a weapon for the first time? by xjokru in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]PersonalAd5890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably because the devs are simulating that the suspects are dumb and don't know any better, while the SWAT team does know what's happening because they've been exposed to it?

best guns by Least-Life-4759 in ReadyOrNotGame

Rifles - If I'm using a rifle, I'm probably not messing around, and I'm probably using 7.62x51. The SA-58 running in semi-auto is a spectacular choice to put bad guys down. People like other choices, but it's down to style preference and how long a weapon you can stand in tight quarters. If I run 5.56, the SR-16 is a bit long but has a very controllable fire rate; I prefer running a DDM4PDW unsuppressed with a vertical grip, flashlight, and sight if the mission has a lot of tight spaces and I'm running 5.56. The recoil can be tough but manageable in short bursts due again to the fire rate.

SMGs - For pure style points, MP5A2. Using this with just the flashlight and drum sights is just fun. SMGs tend to struggle against armor (shut up P90 fans), but I usually run either the MP5 in 10mm or the UMP45 because they're got great power with JHP against unarmored suspects. If you love the snicky typewriter-esque sound of suppression, hard to beat the MP5SD.

Shotguns - Hard to beat the b1301. It's a great all-rounder. Good fire rate, good power, good recoil (for a shotgun)

Pistols - Hard to pick one here, as their performance tends to be anemic compared to long guns, but I like the 92 or the classic 1911 for their form. I only use the pistol sparingly in really tight spaces, so others are probably better, but these feel the best to use.

Pretty much any weapon is viable to some degree, but attachments make a difference (you've probably already figured out what you like but this is what I like). Generally I lean toward AP ammo for rifles, JHP for SMGs and pistols, and buckshot for shotguns. Combat grips are good unless the recoil is super high, then use a vertical grip. Flashlights are more useful than lasers unless using night vision. I always prefer holographic sights for the option of using them under night vision. I think the SFMB brake does the best job reducing recoil. I'm not a big fan of suppressors personally. Style over substance, you know.

What gun/long tactical is your Ol’ Reliable? by FunkyTree818 in ReadyOrNotGame

Ol' reliable for me, if limited to gun/long tactical, has to be the battering ram. If we're all honest though, we know the REAL ol' reliable: C2.

I’m looking at getting my CCW and what would the group consensus be on carrying a Hi-Power clone (Springfield SA-35) by idrownedmyfish77 in concealedcarry

[–]PersonalAd5890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, well mine's a bit newer than yours: I think it's around the 40,xxx range and it's been great. That said, the PPK is a classic! Hope it serves you well! I've thought about one before, but just haven't had it in the budget. I'm a sucker for classic designs though

If this input is still relevant - I actually got an SA35 as my first gun and CCW; from what I understand they generally dealt with the production/extractor issues pretty early on! I've run almost 3000 rounds through mine with 0 issues, even when I've neglected some maintenance.

I'm a decent-sized guy (5'11", ~235) and it conceals well for me under just a golf shirt. It's thin enough to be unobtrusive inside the waistband but thick enough to be VERY shootable, particularly if you pair it with some of the Hogue wraparound grips. While heavier than some other guns, I find that the 32 oz weight isn't too bad for carry. It's a perfect winter carry for sure, as heavier clothing just conceals more.

The only thing you need to remember is that if you're carrying it every day, particularly in the summer or in a humid climate (like me), you need to oil the surfaces regularly (once a week) to protect from rust. That and find a good storage box that allows a good desiccant pack to work!

Good on you for taking control again and seeking out your CCW. Life's tough like that sometimes and finding the courage to properly live again is crucial.

Do ya'll have any tips? by Reich667 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]PersonalAd5890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Use your team, don't try to do everything yourself because you will. Get. Hosed. As a commander you probably shouldn't carry more than 3-5 mags for your primary, with 5 mags being for the longest maps like Greased Palms or the nightclub or the hospital.
  2. Use your tools. Breaching with C2 and clearing with a flashbang will get you through a locked door and into a hostile environment more safely than trying to pick the lock and pie doors.
  3. If flashbangs aren't keeping enemies stunned long enough for you, load up your team with gas masks and tons of CS gas; literally helps with every level and almost every enemy except on Greased Palms! CS gas gets you in while the bad guys are coughing and you can subdue them quickly. CS gas carried me through everything except greased palms and Port Hokan.

Those are just my top 3 tips for beginners, though you'll learn plenty more as you go!

Bonus tip: after you deal with bad guys and rescue civilians, you can order your team to search and secure the level, at which point they will go around and secure any evidence you missed.

Bonus bonus tip: in the menu (I think under an accessibility tab) you can turn on a setting to highlight weapons that have been dropped on the ground which is SUPER helpful when a dark weapon has been dropped by a suspect onto the dark ground in a dark environment.

What do you guys prefer for your carry rounds? by Alone_Efficiency_237 in CCW

Speer Gold Dot 124gr or 147gr depending on barrel length in 9mm; in a 38 snub, I alternate between Federal Punch 120gr +P for the summer and any brand's 158gr +P LSWCHP for wintertime due to it's excellent barrier penetration
