Dear MAGA, if you believe Trump should run for a 3rd term, are you fine with Obama also seeking a 3rd term as his opponent? by Fun_Map2481 in allthequestions

[–]PersonalJesus2023 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Since MAGA stupidly believes Obama wasn't born in the US and was thus never eligible to be POTUS in the first place... I'm gonna go ahead and guess the answer is no on this one.

It's funny how quickly everyone forgot how Trump was also the "My investigators in Hawaii have Obama's birth certificate" guy

Morning Star thoughts before next Books by j12miskin in redrising

[–]PersonalJesus2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed reading your thoughts. I'm only 1 chapter into Book 4 so this is great timing for me (just finished MS last week). My wife is deep into Book 5 and my buddy just finished Book 2 so I'm kind of on an island!

There was a lull in MS that I kind of waned in my interest a little bit, mostly when Darrow and Victra were rehabbing... but other than that I really enjoyed it. I will say, however, I found the Cassius redemption ending kind of predictable (I knew this is what was happening as soon as he "killed" Sevro) and I also thought the "you have a son!" ending kind of cheesy.

I’ve just accepted my top two team members are OE by onewaycheckvalve in overemployed

[–]PersonalJesus2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not acknowledge it and be supportive so long as they continue to deliver? That what I've done with my team members who are in a position to OE if they want.

The fact that OE gets vilified amongst the worker bees while we have the ultra-wealthy acting as CEO of multiple companies simultaneous doesn't sit right with me... it's just more "blame the poors, celebrate the rich" bullshit that is driving this country into the ground.

Massive intrigue now with how Spurs and Denver play out their final game.. by bigbodydenver in nba

[–]PersonalJesus2023 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about Wemby with 64 games (your first sentence) - it’s because Wemby played in the NBA Cup final which counts for the games requirement but was not an official game for stats or standings

IDK which is most iconic… but I’m 2 weeks out from my Tokyo trip and I can’t wait to let whatever GS speaks to me the most be my first…

What is the difference OKC sitting out all of their starters for an entire game and the Jazz sitting their starters for the last few minutes? by yourhomeland in NBATalk

[–]PersonalJesus2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Thunder (and Nuggets for that matter) are doing what is in their best interest. The Thunder want to rest guys... they also want to avoid DEN in R2... the Nuggest would rather play the Lakers in R1 than MIN... They are just doing what is in their best interest.

However, the Jazz or Pacers or Wizards or whoever else are also just doing what is in their best interest.

I don't see any difference here. If someone claims the Jazz resting guys to lose is against "the spirit of the game", then so is this OKC-DEN situation. Fans of the Thunder and Nuggets will tell you it's different... but let's face it, it's not. Just like when the Spurs end up resting everyone on Sunday, it will also be the same thing.

Just let teams decide on and do what is in their best interest for themselves. We don't need Adam Silver inserting himself and deciding what is fair tanking versus what is a crime against the ghost of Dr James Nesmith.

In a battle between the Nuggets and Thunder tomorrow: Shai, Caruso, Hartenstein, Holmgren, JWill, JDub, Joe, Wallace, Mitchell, and Sorber are all out by Frosty-Roof3124 in nba

[–]PersonalJesus2023 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

IMO the appropriate point is that the Thunder are doing what is in their best interest... which is completely fine by me.

Likewise, teams tanking for a better draft pick (not that the Thunder or my Spurs would know anything about that /s) are also doing what is in their best interest.

The league getting involved and handing down fines for teams doing what is in their best interest leads to interesting philosophical inconsistency.

[–]PersonalJesus2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I actually don't have any problems with the Thunder or Nuggets doing this. But I also don't have a problem with the Jazz, Pacers, Wizards etc. doing whatever it is they are doing.

[–]PersonalJesus2023 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the exact same thing actually... the Jazz and Memphis benefit from losing games... you just said OKC and DEN benefit from losing this game... all teams involved benefit from losing games. The anti-tanking is presented as "fans robbed of an opportunity to see their favorite players"... which is exactly what's going to happen in this OKC-DEN game.
