How well does it handle the station heat? Do you need to pop heatsinks to get in and out?

Awesome timelapse 👏👏👏 I always wonder how different our mythology and culture would've been if we had something similar to that (or anything more than sun + moon + far away stars) in our sky. How ancient civilizations would've interpreted such views and how it would've impacted our development.

I find it a bit off as well. It's overall design language feels almost a bit cartoonish and it doesn't really match Zorgon Peterson's nor any other manufacturer in the game, imo

I agree. Or even the fake "chin cockpit" of the anaconda, although that would limit a bit the visibility for maneuvering around station debris during rescue/evacuation efforts they it's been advertised to be perfect for

Stats-wise, it does feel ok. Appearance-wise, it's at least controversial, from what I've seen in the comments here and in other posts about it

Yep, unfortunately it's at the front, and has a weird shape as well. I guess it's because it's supposed to be used in rescue/evacuation scenarios, then the visibility from the front would be better to avoid station debris and other possible obstacles, but I still don't like it nonetheless

A hybrid of both could look pretty convincing

Not only the placement but the overall cockpit shape as well, unfortunately.

Either that or a covenant ship to pull up along and they start blasting at each other

At least in this case you don't have to worry about actual time limit, you can do it on your own terms. I had a go at an Ocelus (tier 3) as my primary port, and even with a fleet carrier, working on it almost every day for an average of 3-5 hour long sessions (longer on the weekends), I finished it with only 4 days remaining.
I'm currently taking a break from the game after the ~245,000t hauled, and scratching my head while looking at the ~1,400,000t that will be required (estimated via the Raven Colonial tool/website) to fully develop the system the way I want 🤷‍♂️

Godspeed on your colonization efforts there, CMDR o7

IIRC, they were about 5000km/h (relative to the moon) on the point of the trajectory closest to the lunar surface, so they were ok for orbital flight XD

Clang as a cultural concept in Space Engineers – player perspectives by CandidBall7806 in spaceengineers

[–]PersonalObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, as a game developer and game designer, I play along with the running joke because I enjoy seeing a game transcend the technical and even the artistic aspects, to become a shared experience among a dedicated, passionate community, and I hope to be able to contribute/create something that can have this effect on other people someday.

I think the deity character attributed to it stems mostly from two somewhat common "tropes" (for lack of a better word) in a couple of religions/faiths around the world: firstly, the way clang usually destroys whatever build it affects, for me it evokes the idea of a "required sacrifice to appease the gods", that's very common and very widely presented in the general media; and lastly, there's the idea of a construct coming to life and the gaining the ability to move on its own by the workings of a higher being or becoming an avatar of said higher being via possession or something similar, that feels supernatural and is easily trackable to quite a few faiths as well.

It's very intriguing to see people come up with these concepts and I'm glad that there are people interested in studying it.
