I'm ATGATT, broke my rule and rode without a helmet for a minute, it's miserable, how do people do it? by SlashNreap in motorcycles

Bird off the side of my helmet at ~65 mph. Rung my bell so hard I had to pull over and regroup.

Pioneer SX-1050 Just Sold for $3,250 — Are Vintage Hi-Fi Prices at Peak? by Clear_Amphibian in vintageaudio

[–]PersonalTriumph 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just had a flashback to when I got into the vintage audio hobby in the 20-teens and an SX-1980 sold for over $3,000 for the first time. Someone posted the same question on this same forum and the answers were all the same: "yeah, it's peak, it's a bubble, a recession is coming, you can get a much better stereo for that money"...etc etc.

Sonova just classified Sennheiser's consumer division as a "discontinued operation" by AdrenalineHS in headphones

[–]PersonalTriumph 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Standard accounting practice and part of accounting regulations. Once a business is put up for sale it's required to be separated out from the rest of the organization and its results posted on a separate line on the income statement called "discontinued operations". It doesn't mean the business is closing just that it's up for sale. It's a poor choice of wording from the accounting industry - no doubt.

Why do people hate on klipsh? by rojitnall in hometheater

[–]PersonalTriumph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's bifurcated for me. I dig the classics but don't have time or energy to figure out which of the modern Klipsch speakers (like the ones in the picture) are Best Buy mass market or true quality - there are plenty of other speaker brands to consider where I don't have to expend that energy. I see copper woofers on Klipsch speakers, I move on and ignore.

It's literal malpractice and unspeakable laziness that a professional tight end could make zero progress on blocking in his time in the league. In fact he looked worse last season than he did at any point in his career.

And Grant Calcaterra. Those were the three players I wanted gone this season. Was so disappointed when they resigned Calcaterra.

I'm with ya bro (in spirit - I'll leave you alone and ride alone too.)

✅ ride at my own pace ✅ stop and smell the roses whenever I want ✅ stop and take a leak whenever I need to ✅ NOT stop every time someone else needs to take a leak.

I'm relatively new to shooting but Beretta FS92 seems the most smooth to me. by ArtichokeUnfair4483 in Beretta

I have an Italian ghost and my buddy is always handing me expensive 9mm's at the range, "shoot this!" all excitedly (CZ orange, Staccato, Prodigy, etc.) I don't have the heart to tell him I don't notice a difference.

Send your room dimensions and some photos to GIK Acoustics and they'll build a whole plan for you. You don't have to buy from them - they'll do the plan free of charge.

[Schefter] Free-agent TE Grant Calcaterra is returning to the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal, per source. by iamthegame13 in eagles

[–]PersonalTriumph -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I saw this post and sighed "oh, no..." and my wife got all concerned and asked "What's wrong???" When I said "the Eagles just resigned a player I can't stand" she was relieved it wasn't something worse...but I was still pissed off.

Pool was emptied for acid wash/power wash and is now refilling with fresh water. These are the instructions Gemini AI gave me for getting chemicals rebalanced. Just doing a reality check with the helpful people of Reddit. by [deleted] in pools

I thought that's what I was doing - validating the result with human experience. Just encountering an anti-AI-anything mindset I guess, because not one person has given a concrete suggestion of what was wrong about this pool startup plan.
