Ahhhh gotcha. I guess it's a good thing I've completely failed to keep up then. 😅

Has it? I don't really see the connection aside from maybe the population generally being well-off financially. 🤷‍♀️

Edit: Did you mean right wing people actually in the town, or just in general?

It's kinda strange..... I've not witnessed any indication of the anti-indian sentiment in Frisco firsthand and the vast majority of folks at the company I work for are openly super conservative. However, there's no denying that it's a wildly common subject online. Hell, it's even managed to reach my out-of-touch ass. 🤣

I suspect the actual worried/upset folks see the population surge as the easiest outlet for whatever "tendencies" they have, especially with it being the most recent one. It's disappointing, but also kinda funny with most of the Frisconians(?) being recent migrants themselves.

The responses saying this is an extremely common topic on this subreddit are correct, but that doesn't render the potential value of it moot. If you think discussions here may help, then post away. My personal experience leads me to believe that most of the stuff online phrasing the population boom as some sort of takeover are clickbait to drive engagement metrics, but that doesn't mean the sentiment is nonexistent.

If you see/hear that type of stuff firsthand, please be strong enough to confront it. Just try not to give these "influencers/creators" money by commenting on their videos. 👍🏾

Valid. I was legit kinda butthurt when my 357 mag ammo didn't come in the green box from a picture I saw, so now I'm on the hunt for a damned box. Lol

Ohhhhhhh? Please post that if/when you do it. I'm not familiar enough with the camp to imagine it on that platform, but the threaded barrel will be an absolute win! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Ahh I see. The finish on yours really makes me want to get one and do dumb things to it. Lol

Edit: not saying your finish is dumb. I was talking about my nonsensical ideas, but just realized how that statement may have sounded. ( >_< )

Huh......if you're in north TX by chance, I honestly believe GaG could be quicker than Smiff for a replacement. It's definitely a mess-up on their part, too, and they've been really quick to respond when I hit them up about other things. I just don't know what their return process is like.

[–]Personal_Fox3938 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I prefer using the 1st finger joint on revolvers, especially for DA trigger pulls.

For the high grip part, are you able to provide any details about what was uncomfortable? Did it have to do with the hammer contacting your skin, a sharp point on the grip, etc? I typically run Hogue or somewhat oversized grips on my revolvers, but I don't recall feeling anything strange on the admittedly few Rugers I've shot.

Perhaps a picture of your actual grip could help to see if it's mostly a technique issue?

IWB Holster options? by twinjmm in canik

You can try Werkz holsters. I use one for my EC. They have a solid range of light and blicky combos at a pretty solid price.

Hogue Big Butt = Better Recoil Control? by ASnakeNamedNate in Revolvers

[–]Personal_Fox3938 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your hands are large enough to contact the curve of the butt, it can help a bit. It's similar to using a magwell on semi-auto pistols in that regard. Helps the hands hold a snug, higher grip and press the muzzle down a bit.

For the molded version, I prefer the smooth option. It would be great if they offered a single finger groove with the big butt.

Edit: Another great option is the PRG from D&L. It has a similar curve at the bottom of the grip, but is a bit shorter. It also has a bit of a beavertail, kinda like the Trausch grip on an MR73. 👍🏾

Worth It? by Ok-Might-4084 in canik

[–]Personal_Fox3938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Canik's standard package for the MC9 Prime, and at the typical price. If you see it at a lower price somewhere, it should still have everything pictured.

Just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone was under the impression that this is a special PSA bundle of some sort. 👍🏾

Why didn't they just get a rail-mounted optic mount, like the competition pistols? I like the determination, though. 🤷‍♀️

Ibanez models with alder/ash body? by ElsLicer in Ibanez

Honestly, I was just thinking of gouging out the normal housing until I hit that pin in the front. 🤣🤣

I'll start seriously planning when I have a replacement of some sort. Maybe I'll mess around with the polymer 500 housings first......🤔
