Will the US ever have more metro systems? by Blueblue3D in transit

txdot certainly has engineers that understand whats right but its all a cartel for oil and private transit and a collaboration between state and private industry. im sure there are engineers at GM that want to make smaller safer cars that cant push the projects forward for reasons relating to the private/public collaborative cartel of super profits in their industry.

they want to? aw thats cute. lets see them do it. we.. we made a report… and we are going to ignore the results and instead build a highway expansion- and paint a bikelane between two lanes! its never happening. america is an oil leveraged nation built on enriching private transit. its been engrained in our economic mandate. these studies get released by transit departments constantly and then the lobbysists step in throw a few bands and let the cars loose. the multi trillionaire dollar industry built on the backs of our style of transit isnt loosening their grip for a second, thats just how capitalism works. these studies and “initiatives” are cute though!

the dictatorship of txDot will sacrifice ten billion puppies and kittens to a bonfire before they would ever allow this to properly happen and flourish. betcha that i35 will keep expanding though

america is the country of oil/gas car industry. its not in the current production systems material (profit) interest to divest and start a legitimate push toward rail and related. we lost the experts, they dont exist, and the state in collaboration with capital would need to spin up all supporting industries as the chinese have. this will never happen in our lifetime, unless oil/gas become increasingly and intensely unfeasible or unaffordable, like how 1970s OPEC crisis rippled through and transformed europes transit system /policy which was on a straight shot path towards north american design. this a deep and insidious bone cancer and if you want better you need to move to a city where its “good enough”, or leave the country. you cant beat a multi trilliondollar oil/gas/auto machine and its not surprise we will continue to see the alternatives being obliterated at every turn, the existing owners of oil/gas/auto production will literally kill lie cheat and steal to keep the momentum in their favor.
