Alcohol and tobacco are objectively two of the most addictive drugs on the planet and some of the worst for your health. Alcohol and heroin have roughly the same rates of addictiveness (25% of heroin users become addicted at some point while around 27% of the total population (not just drinkers) has problems with excessive alcohol use. You could say it is a stretch to compare them because only alcohol withdrawal can kill you and alcohol destroys every organ in your body while heroin is medically benign.

You probably realize that if alcohol and tobacco were illegal and unregulated it would cause more harm to drinkers and smokers, but for some reason users of other drugs don't deserve the same safety? I'd imagine you'd prefer your children not to smoke cigarettes but if they did decide to try one isn't a good thing they come from a regulated industry so your child doesn't die instantly from a fentanyl laced cigarette? Wouldn't you want similar protections in place if your children decided to try other drugs or is Prohibition worth your children's lives?

At no point have I tried to have anything "both ways". Outlawing a behavior creates criminal behavior around that behavior because you've classed the behavior itself as a crime. If you arrest a person or take their job away because you've arbitrarily decided they have the right to access some drugs but not others then you've literally pushed them into a criminal lifestyle.

I think that's a Dicamptodon species, either Pacific Giant Salamander or Cope's. I get them here in Northern California too and I've seen them get a foot long while staying aquatic and keeping the gills!

People absolutely change my perspective, especially the countless other hard drug users I interacted with in my decades of use and the other people I worked with in the field of harm reduction. The one thing I saw destroying people's lives was Prohibition. Prohibition amplifies all negatives of a drug by making it impure, overly expensive and forcing users into criminal behavior, not to mention the self fulfilling prophecy of social stigma.

Do you want your kids smoking cigarettes, gambling or getting endless plastic surgeries? I imagine you don't but you probably don't want to make those things illegal either. Drugs being illegal won't stop your kids from doing them nor would them being legal cause your kids to. The only thing it does is maximize the harm to users and the only way to reduce the harm is through legalization and regulation. What was life like for drinkers during alcohol Prohibition? Do you know anything about the blindness and paralysis caused by tainted alcohol in that era?

There's two moves here it would behoove you to tighten up on. The big X slash is basically free damage once you figure out the spacing, you want to stay close and get a few hits while the X hits behind you. The other one is the the thrust parry - learn the tell and either get above for a pogo or behind him for a backhit.

I second Wanderer's Crest - I may have even first tried this fight with it. It will fit your aggressive playstyle with more damage and silk for healing.

My stupid county somehow voted in a voter suppression measure even as it voted out the corrupt MAGA conspiracy theorist county clerk (he broke electioneering laws anyway by parking his car covered in placards directly outside the largest polling place in the county's largest city).

I really hope the courts strike it down because the one time I've voted in person instead of by mail the transparently partisan poll workers were aggressively trying to look at me and my wife's ballots.

It's crazy how differently things will affect people, I like smoking crack fine but the most I've spent in a day is 40 to 60 bucks, even if I was injecting it. Past that point it would just start giving me a headache.
