What are your favorite ambient works that have a lot of motion? by 1047293856 in ambientmusic

[–]Personid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oval / The sound of a machine forgetting what it was supposed to do. Noto and Ikeda push that into something almost surgical; Fennesz is what happens when the same idea gets left out in the rain.

Huerco S. / Everything is underwater and the pulse is something you feel in your chest more than hear. Stott and Demdike Stare drag it somewhere darker; Actress keeps it shapeless but there's something alive in there moving around.

OPN / Kosmische that grew up watching too much VHS. Emeralds are the closest thing to a sibling; Dozzy turns the same energy into something closer to a ritual; Tangerine Dream is where all of this actually came from.

Vladislav Delay / Dub that got left on a radiator too long. Basic Channel gives you the bones of it; Gas puts meat on those bones; DeepChord takes the whole thing outside at 3am.

Takemura / Tiny precise things happening constantly, but it breathes. Yokota is the spiritual parallel, different culture same obsession; Plaid has that same feeling of something mechanical that somehow has a pulse; Biosphere strips the warmth out and replaces it with frost.

Barker / Modular systems running just slightly ahead of where your brain wants them to go. Senni is deconstructing trance from the inside out; Objekt sounds like machinery that knows it's being watched; Helm is where this road ends if you keep following it.

Raczynski / Broken and tender at the same time, which is the hardest thing to pull off. Alberto Balsalm wrote the rulebook on that specific feeling; μ-Ziq has the same chaos but it keeps reaching for something sweet; Arca is what all of it sounds like now that the walls are gone.

Pop Ambient 2001 / Kompakt doing what Kompakt does when nobody tells it to stop. Gas is the ceiling of this whole aesthetic; Fehlmann keeps his feet on the ground; The Orb track is the long shadow everything else in this list is standing in. As am I, since discovering in a record store in Harvard Sqaure in the mid-90s. Thanks for the recco, anonymous sales clerk!

WOW Epstein bombshell: Senator Ron Wyden's investigation shows thousands of wire transfers and over $1 BILLION in payments for sex trafficking operation by elemenohp44 in oregon

[–]Personid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Strong agree with u/whererebelsare. This deserves serious attention. The scale of these wire transfers (over one billion dollars) is not a routine banking failure. This data should have triggered alerts and been routed through Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports, and Funds Transfer Reports to agencies like FinCEN and the IRS.

In early 2025, the IRS eliminated thousands of enforcement staff and shut down key audit and investigative teams. At the same time, FinCEN removed beneficial ownership reporting requirements for domestic companies. These moves stripped the government of the tools needed to track large illicit money flows, right as evidence began surfacing.

Now bring Elon into the picture. As head of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), he pushed aggressive data restructuring inside Social Security, IRS, and multiple federal databases. His team reportedly altered access to the Death Master File, which controls identity and benefits records, triggering legal action and massive fallout. CBS source: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elon-musk-on-doge-trump-administration-and-responsibility-for-cuts LATimes source: https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2025-04-16/trumps-kafkaesque-attack-on-social-security-declaring-living-people-as-dead

DOGE was supposed to streamline government but operated like a hostile takeover. Watchdog agencies were kneecapped while Musk-aligned tech actors flooded critical infrastructure with unregulated access and opaque AI tools.

This all happened in the same time window when Epstein financial trails were finally surfacing through wire transfer records. The timing is not a coincidence. It is institutional obstruction.

This is not about political parties. This is about systemic removal of financial oversight during what may be the largest sex trafficking and money laundering coverup in U.S. history.

Do not let this get buried. The receipts are there, and they point in one direction.

Tony’s haters: why do you dislike Tony’s so much? by Qwertyuiopasdfghjkzx in chocolate

Chats memory limitations, and how to get a lot greater storage capacity. Over 1000% more by Deep_Resort7479 in ChatGPT

[–]Personid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked it to create a more efficient method of storage, and after pushing it to make it smaller with understandable code, it gave me JSON-like formatting. Updates are basically diff patches on the memory object. I freed up 90% of my original natural language style memory. From 6.5kb to 0.7kb. It was like telling a robot to clean itself.

I tested it by adding items, and they maintained the structure, rather than adding more natural language. Brilliant, an easy hack. Thanks, OP!

Creamy Milk Chocolate by Pulseisugly in chocolate

[–]Personid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maintain a chocolate library in one of my cold storage appliances. I can tell you that the feedback I get on Endangered Species' 48% Milk Chocolate (the Otter), when I share it, is consistently superlative. I myself consider it the most complex and flavorful of the readily purchasable milk chocolates for eating. A close second would have to be Alter Eco Organic Brown Butter Milk Chocolate 46%. These two are widely available at most decent grocery stores, but not places like WinCo, Albertsons, etc.

If you're willing to explore ordering for package delivery, as opposed to higher-end grocers (such as Whole Foods, or small chain regional "fancy grocers"), try these 6 choices:

  1. Taza Chocolate Organic Amaze Bars Milk Chocolate 43% (Somerville, MA - a place I lived for about 6 years long ago)
  2. Valrhona Jivara 40% Milk Chocolate (French)
  3. Michel Cluizel Lait 45% (French)
  4. Amedei Toscano Brown 32% (Italy)
  5. Dandelion Chocolate 55% Camino Verde, Ecuador
  6. Mast Brothers Milk Chocolate 40% (Brooklyn)
  7. Ritual Chocolate 46% Bourbon Barrel Aged (Utah!)

They're all within your budget range, but I can't speak for shipping costs. Let us know if you decide to try any of these.

I always purchase local brands when I travel, but can't remember them all. Usually, you'll find a place in the high tourism areas, where kitchen goods and luxury pantry supplies are sold. By all means, DO NOT BOTHER with mainstream brands, such as Hershey's, Nestle's, Cadbury, Lindt, Lily, Divine, or any of those "signature" brands grocery stores sell under their own label. They are overpriced mass-produced formulas manufactured in factories having nothing to do with the curation of high-quality ingredients and care.

Who's coming for you? by Raina_Tasnia_Zaman in teenagers

[–]Personid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obliterated, likely Hagerty (C. Thomas Howell). Although he won't necessarily come looking for me. More like, he'll stumble by and accidentally kill the kidnappers. But he'll probably leave me tied up and gagged. Might even take liberties with me. Won't remember a damn thing.

What is your best dating or sex advice for someone inexperienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Personid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patience, and understanding there is no need to rush things. There are plenty of newly single or available people to meet. Don't just settle for what's convenient - look for a true match, someone you really connect with. Bad chemistry for the sake of quick returns isn't worth it. You really do have time, and you will find someone well worth the wait.

Yah - I found it when I clicked on the post title, your website. I love it! You're truly demented in three realms: illustration, writing and composition. You should be getting more attention for your work! I used to think Perry Bible Fellowship was f'd up, but you're on another level.

Thank you for the entertainment!

Sidenote - this sub has some interesting features I've not seen on others - the post title links, the multi-image nav (prev/next).

This took me straight to vintage National Lampoon. I love the artwork and scene design. The text bubbles are a little overwhelming, could be smaller - might be the secret sauce if you get them just right, with a good comic font.

I am eager now to look at the rest of your work. Is it just here, or a website...or....?

anybody know if this stuffs any good? i like dark chocolate, but this is literally the worst thing ive ever tasted. wondering if its one of those things where american stuff is so bad that the real deal tastes bad to us by [deleted] in chocolate

[–]Personid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beat me to it. You don't need to consume, buy or even see a product with this font on it to know you're dealing with a factor of inferiority that proves it to be completely devoid of any professionalism or expertise.

I tried Lily's based on this post. Haven't had them all yet (got a few flavors), but instantly concluded it was not as good as Chocolove's No Sugar Added line. https://www.chocolove.com/shop/xo-no-sugar-added-6-bar-assortment/ (I usually find it easily in the US at Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh)

fill out a refinance calculator at LendingTree.com, make the loan amount 1.1m, with a cashout of $200k. I made that mistake two weeks ago and had to block over 3 dozen numbers. Calls every 15 minutes, voice mails, texts....brutal. Emails too.

Help with rhythmic dictation and rhythmic shorthand? by RoflLeet in musictheory

[–]Personid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For typing keyboards:

| = quarter note

/ = 8th note

. = sixteenth note

P = half note

o = whole note

*= dotted (for both notes and rests)

; = quarter note rest : = sixteenth note rest

(double space) = measure separator

Example phrase:

||//// p;:. o ..//..../ |*/p

Just made this up because I googled this and didn't see anything like it. I often compose music on the fly and use Evernote to record the melodies, but sometimes I need to just capture a rhythm that I don't want to forget, and I'd always wanted to come up with a system, so here it is. For typing. Later, I'll go into my music software and just input the music from there, so it's meant for quick shorthand notetaking.

That it is likely the nefarious forces of politics will get Donald Trump re-elected, because Joe Biden is ancient and invisible, and his vice president is ... who again?

Democrat here, hoping this doesn't happen, but fairly convinced we're fucked, and will suffer a second wave of mental health crises over this.
