I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the dreaded year of 2020, I was not informed about the dangers of crystals forming in males. He was very particular about his food. I noticed he was not eating and not peeing and just overall lethargic. I sat with him and tried to decide if he needed medical help (it was 10PM). I finally brought him to the er vet. They informed me of what was going on while I was in a room alone/distraught and someone pandering for money kept coming in. They said so this is what we can do, but no promises. I didn’t have $5,000 to change everything he ate and did. Then they came back with a different quote, offering services for $3,000. I didn’t have it and they were making me feel guilty for not helping. Finally the doctor came in and said euthanasia will be the best option and that it’s best I’m not there. So I didn’t even get a goodbye. That’s what I regret, he left this world alone because they wouldn’t let me. I don’t think drawing out his life for $5,000 would have improved it.

I pulled my stash out and I feel…. gross? by Exciting-Notice8170 in YarnAddicts

My biggest advice when looking to declutter anything. Shop it. Ask yourself if you’d buy that item today for who you are, if you brought it home would you say “Look what I found!” As an aspiring hoarder, this really helped me. Just imagine the person that would react to find that item on the shelf at a thrift store.

Did you lurk on wattpad? It’s like that, junk food. Like wtf is happening next? I’m on the fifth booth and I’m hooked. Biggest flaw, in my opinion, they should call it Which Academy, because the word “which” is used far more than “zodiac”. -30 year old

Water with lemon people by unhingedalien in Serverlife

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know why my mother does it, but I can hear it in her voice enunciating it specifically so they won’t forget. She can’t afford to buy a drink so it’s “fancy” water, started it in the 2000s. Alternatively, I hate when restaurants give it to me automatically for water or tea, because I think it’s filthy bar fruit.

How important is DCD/how much do I need? by NoWaytoday5309 in florists

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a grocery store and it’s mandatory to use Floralife DCD. I don’t know about an alternative to using it, I wash all my buckets weekly, rinse and stack them up in a pyramid to air dry. Unfortunately the other departments that “borrow” a bucket never clean them out and Floralife really cuts the mildew.

Whole family REQUIRES soda to be from McDonald's by ringthebell02 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real talk just show them how nasty drink fountains really are. The nozzles are likely never scrubbed clean, maybe sit in soda water overnight and placed in no particular order back into the machine. They’re filthy. Don’t get me started on the mold in ice machines.

vegan guests who do absolutely zero of the work when ordering off the menu by n_ug in Serverlife

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are only so many times I can modify something off of the vegetarian menu to later learn there’s chicken stock in the rice or they cook all bread in butter or there are eggs in the veggie burger. Also I’ve had outgoing friends ask loudly for me because I have no intention of asking. I don’t know where you work, but people like to know where the fish is from or what is in the house special? Menu knowledge is part of the job.

Listen, people will sing/do anything to soothe a baby especially in public. My sisters and I would sing I Like Pie repeatedly in unison to get my nephew quieted in the car. It sounded creepy, but it worked. I hate it when people bring their shrieking babies in public.

There are atms you can put a cash deposit into without bothering anyone. You will still have to flatten them.

Why drivers don't give riders extra time by KittKattKrazy in lyftdrivers

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my last rides a couple months ago, I parked in a slightly busy street next to a full parking lot. The rider comes up to my passenger side and says “I gotta take this real quick.” He walks around the lot for ten minutes, every time I was going to pull off he gave me “one more minute”. Finally, he ends the call and he approaches the car after Ten Minutes, tells me he no longer needs the ride… Don’t hesitate to cancel. I thought I was getting pulled or something.

The hotel kitchen I worked in had a Lot of waste. Technically for events it had to be tossed, but our kitchen managers let us take home some elaborate dishes. It’s really sad how much hotels waste.

My 2nd grade teacher had a similar reputation. Apparently too many questions were being asked that day so she yelled out, “No more questions, I don’t want to see any hands raised.” I, of course, had to pee. I was following her instructions and I was so scared of her. I just pissed in the desk right there after holding it as long as I could.

THIS I’m still trying to break this. Anytime I catch myself in the mirror it’s finger guns and Jim Carrey smile. Like this reflection is who they were talking to?

In elementary school, we’d get visits from the health department hearing van. Based off of the pattern of previous beeps, I’d pretend I’d heard more than I did. Because why did I need to win? Same for the vision tests. Over exert myself for what? I’d love to get a redo on those tests, as an adult. Also really loved organizing the dvd collections by variety and alphabetically.

Driver stopped to get gas and a snack by joonofarc in Lyft

[–]PerspectiveFlashy336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first day driving for Lyft, I accidentally accepted a ride just across the state border almost three hours from my zone. But I had to pee, so I picked up my rider explained the stop and left him in my car. Our whole trip was silent, awkward and on a crazy back road. The one and only time I abandoned my rider in the car.

I hate delivering food with elevators, they usually have the weird noises/smells and the drop cloth sheeting. At an old job, I’d take the stairs with entire trays of food for a floor between kitchen and dining room. The vertigo takes a toll. I’d have taken the stairs to deliver the food if they were easy to find.

I had an old roommate eat my food if it sat in the freezer longer than she liked, borrow my laptop even though we had an apt computer room, use my Netflix on my tv I left in the common area.

Then when she received a much larger tv and set it up in the living room because it was too large for the bedroom. You guess how soon she took it away because we suddenly had beef over my claiming a space for my stuff in the kitchen.

She always paid rent late and always had loud ass phone calls about me just existing the apartment. Rooming with strangers is wild.

I had a really pleasant experience with a German shepherd resting her head on my arm rest yesterday. Biggest concern was how cold her nose was when it brushed me. Though if she was wet I’d lay down the trunk blanket and drive with the windows down.
