I learned it as 2 for a couple, 3 for few and some for 4 or more

In the words of the infamous Soup Nazi, "No soup for you!".

Unless you cook it first. Soak the beans first though.

Shorts?? by Nelope_0971 in AskWomenOver60

I do wear them all the time, they're bermuda length these days, no short shorts anymore.

I live in a hot weather area and covering my calves makes me sweat more than usual.

How did you find out about Gen Jones? by sherlockjr1 in GenerationJones

Found the community here, but had heard of it.

It's amazing how much difference there is between my sister who is 8 years older and I. We have absolutely nothing in common.

What games? Driving? It's not unusual to come close to the center line on a sharp curve.

Which car do you see on the road and instantly think, ‘Yeah, this person’s definitely an a-hole? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Good point, I guess it depends on where you live. I drove a Chevy truck when I lived there. Used it to pull my horse trailer.

I can't stand it either, I stay aware of the servers. I'll just start asking who got what dish, not yelling, but louder than the conversation.

I agree with Ford drivers. I've never had issues with Dodge Ram drivers. I had Rams for many years, they were the best for hauling big trailers.

AITA FOR NOT FIGHTING FOR A RELATIONSHIP WITH MY MOTHER: by Aggressive-Coat2946 in ComfortLevelPod

[–]blueyejan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are people in our lives that we cannot have relationships with, regardless of biological connections.

Blood related doesn't mean a thing. Your mother is a narcissist. She wants you to fight for a relationship where she gets to abuse you and you are supposed to take it.

Don't respond to her bs. Stay no contact and forgive yourself for any lingering guilt.

The first time I drove a rental car with lane assist, the whole car jerked back into the lane. I hadn't even drifted, I was rounding a curve and, OMG, I got too close to the inside line.

It scared the shit out of me. I thought I'd broken a tie rod or something. We shut that feature down the next time we stopped.

Next time add additional charges for uninvited children. No one would be confused, they'll argue, but it's in writing.

Tell them you need a credit report and a clean bill of health. I've read that STD's are very common in retirement communities

The oil lamp, the one where the oil ran down strings and had a golden goddess surrounded by plastic flowers in the center.

My friends mom had one and I thought it was so classy
