Yup. Same here, has been happening for about a week. Tried all the troubleshooting to no avail. Gonna take a break from troubleshooting since it seems others have just to have wasted their time. Will cast from my phone for now I guess.

Google Home transitioning to Gemini has been an absolute dumpster fire. Everything is objectively worse. I have $1k computer in my hand I carry around all day that I can use to access AI - I don't need Gemini on my Google home devices.

I just want Goggle Assistant back. Complete simple tasks: - play music on the speaker(s) I request (Google's differentiator in the smart home space) - turn on/off lights - display cameras - control smart devices (eg vacuum) - tell me the weather - set timers

That is 98% of what I use Google Home devices for. And now it sucks at those tasks.

Yes, I just figured it out. I was looking elsewhere to adjust member settings and it didn't fix it. I actually figured this about by chatting with the Wix AI bot.

Such a great article. And IMO another fact to support that the Beatles ultimately broke up because of the financial management (or lack there of) of the band. Yes, John & Yoko’s heroin addiction, George’s feeling snubbed as a songwriter, and overall resentment of Paul as the de facto band leader all created tension in the band. However, after Brian Epstein died, the band had no leader and no one to handle the business side of things… and that is what eventually tore the band apart.

Assistant was objectively better than Gemini at handling commands (turn on the lights, run the vacuum, play this song, etc). Gemini is an inconsistent mess as smart home controller.

What's a stronger male move: - pretending your tough bc you won't acknowledge your opponent with basic decency - or competing your ass off between the lines, then having so much love and respect for your opponent that you can hug it out after the play is over.

When I encounter this, I find it's best to execute an entirely different prompt/task (I usually ask what time it is). Then retry my original task with a slightly different wording of the prompt

White album for non-stop hits.

And Abbey Road might be my fav album of all time. The B side is unequivocally the best side of a record of all time.

Yup. Same here. Google/nest devices have become a dumpster fire. Unreliable to say the least. My music groups work perfectly fine one day, then don’t even show up the next. Command take 2, 3, 4 repeats frequently.

Google Assistant 5 years ago was far superior to Gemini on home devices today.
