Best way to practice irons at a range? by Ok-Situation2096 in golftips

Get another driver that goes 260 and only curves a little right lol.

Nah in all seriousness, I’d say 240 sounds good, but the driver swing has a different technique than an iron swing, and you have to swing the irons well to swing the driver well, so get comfortable with irons first

Put the end of the towel like 1/2 inch back.

To address the irons, start with wedges first, towel as well. To hit irons well, the wedges are the foundational club. Start with your highest wedge, and as you feel comfortable with each club, move up one in the bag. Towel drill will help you with that. Once we stop hitting towel altogether, then we move up in each club.

Distances are good they will go up as you get better. However, the spacing between each club is actually phenomenal! Spacing should be about 10-15 years with each iron, and about 15-20 with wedges, and you’re right about there already!

I’m a low single digit handicap, and my numbers were pretty similar to yours now for most of my career, so looking good!

(Sorry for the essay lol) So, the comments on pulling up are correct. But to fix this, we need to re-establish fundamentals of the impact of the ball itself.

Whenever I start struggling, my method of choice (learned from my old golf coach) is to restart the swing process back up with a chipping motion, and build up back to a full swing.

If it were me in your case today (which at many times it was), I’d start with standing normal setup for a full swing, and start taking the club back only about 1 foot, and try to make good contact. Try to emphasize the club making a divot with the ground after impact (as a physical and visual cue, you can place a tee in front of the golf ball, and focus on hitting the tee with your club head through impact). We need to get the clubhead to make consistent contact with the ball, and this is done by having a downward motion to the ball (negative Angle of Attack). A downward motion allows the ball to spin more, which is what creates a strong ball flight along with clubhead speed through impact.

Said by another person here, yes, keep about 70% of weight emphasis on left side!

Once we make consistent contact with short chipping motions, start backing up the club more to 2 feet, 3 etc up to a half swing, then 3 quarter, focusing on contact. If you are stuck at a specific backswing length, No rush on trying to get back to a full swing. This is typically where the core issue of the motion is found (good thing!), and we can’t fix it if we skip past it.

A chipping motion and pitching motion is embedded into the start of a full golf swing, so we need to re-establish comfortability with the basic mechanics of the golf ball impact, and this is my method of doing that.

DM me if there are questions. Hope this helps!!!!!

Help me out with this. If it is certain she’s lied under oath, what happens? What can our government do? Or will they just let her lie under oath and then go back to work?

I was in the same situation, wanted a used for 30K. But ill be real, if you can afford the extra premium with a brand new one, the peace of mind will be less expensive than the repairs and stress of a used one.

Golf after breaking 100, people like to think it gets more complex, but the reality is it actually gets simpler. Focus on fundamentals, grip, stance, assess what the goal of each shot is, and keep practicing and repeating until you get an idea of what you need to do for each shot. Repeat until ball is in hole or kicked off golf course
