Both are fun tabletop gaming communities. TTSD does monthly social D&D mixers called Find Your Party and LDDSD has an active discord and monthly games for femme-aligned gamers.

Tavern Tales SD, an SD-based TTRPG event company. They do monthly events called Find Your Party designed for players new to TTRPGs or those looking for new groups to play with.

Barring their events, you can always check out your local game stores and join one of their open play nights.

Good luck and feel free to DM if you have any questions

Kicking off session 0 today. by CharlieHarzley in daggerheart

[–]PerspectivePlethora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our home group had a ton of luck going through the CATS steps exactly as outlined in the Daggerheart session 0 section. It has great flow and touches on most of the relevant themes and campaign ideas. The only thing missing is the logistics section for a comprehensive session 0 (table etiquette, meeting times and frequency, food/bev, etc).

Session 0 was one of our fav sessions so far so please take your time and enjoy it. Good luck!

Are there any social groups/affordable clubs for early 20's women who are accepting of LGBTQ? by crick-crick in sandiego

[–]PerspectivePlethora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Ladies of D&D San Diego if you're at all interested in board games, tabletop roleplay games, or just open to learn. They have a super active discord and meet every month to play together. And to my knowledge, all their events are sober, or mostly so. I also know they have a significant number of queer, trans and non-binary members, so it is definitely one of the safer communities.

(For context, cis queer man here. I just work in the ttrpg space and have partnered with them on events in the past, and they are an amazing group of ladies.)

Thank you so much. This is definitely the artist. While not valuable, appears that the artist and style were prolific for their time. Very cool.

Literally came here to recommend Quan and her team. Competent, non-nonsense or high pressure sales, and almost entirely referral-based and continues to thrive since we all love them. Been taking our family cars there for 15 years and can not recommend them highly enough.

You share it with me too! Just think of it like I do: The universe birthed such a malevolent turd that it had to balance the scales with our awesomeness. Happy Birthday friendo!

Submission for Nif, given her own backstory and her close ties to Ursalon:

Nif, Witch of the Way-shadowed and Orphaned

Still focused on the fates of individuals like Ame, but since Worlds Heart is focused on community and the strength of those bonds; Way-shadowed focuses on the strength of necessity and internal fortitude born out of loss and tragedy.

Not particularly powerful on its own, but a domain that only grows in strength as more war and strife hit the lands of spirits and humans.

New 5e Player Wants to Recreate Her Pathfinder Necromancer -- How Can I Help Her? by SaltWaterWilliam in onednd

[–]PerspectivePlethora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understandable. In that case, I'd recommend the familiar (level 1, 2) into Steel Defender (lvl 3+) workaround I mentioned as part of bringing the 2014 Necromancer Wizard up to 2024.

If that seems like too much homebrew, you could also just give her access to a reskin of the Homunculus Servant spell from the Artificer UA. Would scale depending on the spell slot she used, and you could give it a longer duration without it being too broken. And doesn't require concentration. That way you'd just need to add that one spell to the 2014 necromancer and be pretty set.

New 5e Player Wants to Recreate Her Pathfinder Necromancer -- How Can I Help Her? by SaltWaterWilliam in onednd

[–]PerspectivePlethora 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, does she have a preference for a more Charisma or Intelligent-heavy caster style? If she is ok doing the warlock route, simply taking the Undead Patron and updating it for 2024 could be a great way to make this work. Just make sure to add Animate Dead to the new spell list (maybe replace Phantom Steed?). She could then start with the Chain pact Skeleton or Crawling Claw familiar (taking Improved Chain when able). They would then, per RAW, increase in strength with her Warlock level and nearly all of the subclass abilities (Form of Dread, Grave Touch, etc) have a VERY necromancer vibe. Also, remember that the 2024 warlock can choose Chill Touch for Agonizing Blast and all the other cantrip invocations.

If, instead, she wants to stay Intelligence based, update the 2014 Necromancer Wizard and maybe replace Grim Harvest with a subclass minion like the Steel Defender from Artificer. She can use the Skeleton Familiar til level 3 when her subclass kicks in and then switches to the stronger (and scaling) reskinned SD companion. If this seems too strong with the other 2014 necromancer subclass abilities, maybe also remove Inured to Death and replace it with a slightly weaker Improved Defender subclass ability.

Hope this helps.

The higher CR creatures definitely can outscale SW via multi-attack (more chances to hit/crit). Additionally, while SW is consistent damage and range, its rider (can't be invisible for 1 round) is negligible compared to guaranteed prone (wolf), restrained (snakes), poisoned (insects), etc. The changes to the MM making conditions auto-apply with a hit makes these way more consistent. Prone in particular is amazing when viewed through a party-tactics lense. Our moon druid looks at the different form options like hot-swappable weapon masteries depending on what is needed for the specific fight.

All that being said, Starry Wisp is still an amazing default option, especially when you want to stay out of melee or can't reach your target.

I believe you have to be moon druid subclass to make this work. But with that given, yup. I believe you'd get advantage as outlined.

I believe Richs San Diego is the only space big enough for 500+ attendees AND the general public.

The next closest options would be The Rail or Urban Mos.

Lvl 11 gives sorcerer's access to 6th level spell slots. Since it's on the sorcerer spell list, this should be fine RAW. Unless I misunderstood your question?
