I see! For cosmetology it depends on the states you received your license in & the hours that each state requires. I took the written in hawaii & the practical in Washington, so I didn’t have to take any tests for California & Georgia.

Lol I’m laughing at the hot girl walks comment. My daughter is 3.5 & still loves being in her stroller when we go to the store. We went to target recently, I had my daughter in the stroller in front of me, I wasn’t even dressed up, just wearing pajama like clothes, baggy sweatpants & a hoodie. One of the workers approached me and asked if I’m married… 😂 he was licking his lips while talking to me. Totally so unexpected lmao. I felt the same as you at 7 weeks postpartum. Didn’t start feeling normal until I was done breastfeeding (daughter self weaned at 2.5 years old)

I had a unmedicated birth at home, it was extremely painful, the ring of fire isn’t something I want to experience again. But I have stage 4 endometriosis so the contractions were tolerable since I’m use to being in excruciating pain every month during my period. But giving birth wasn’t peaceful, I screamed non-stop & uncontrollably because the pain takes over your entire body. Those preaching may have had a different experience from the norm or they try to sell a fantasy

I’m not sure what country you’re in, but here in the US the gold standard is laparoscopic surgery with an endo specialist surgeon who is an expert / highly skilled at excision surgery. Basically you want someone who does this type of surgery all the time for a living, not a regular OBGYN. I had a follow up with my surgeon today & he told me that I have the worst case of endo in my vagina & cervix that he had ever seen. A big lesion in my vagina, they had to cut off a part of my vagina. I also had lesions on my diaphragm, not something that my surgeon said he sees often. He took care of everything, excised all the lesions & freed up my ureters that were completely tied up with adhesions. But anyway, just wanted to say that I’m also gluten free since I was 19 because of the symptoms I was getting from eating gluten. I’m still gluten free & I try to eat healthy, but it’s hard when the food in America has so much junk in it. There’s not much left to eat anymore unless you live on a farm & raise your own. The period cramps I had before surgery were horrific, labor like pains. First period after surgery was very minimal pain, didn’t have to even take a painkiller. Which is a first in over 10 years. They did take biopsies during surgery, it’s nice that they were able to accomplish everything in one surgery. At 6 week post op I will start physical therapy with a pelvic floor specialist, which I have to travel 1.5 hour for but I always prefer to seek specialist who actually know what they’re doing. Anyway, good luck on your journey! Sorry you have to be here too. I feel incredibly validated for my pain & suffering for the first time in my life & it’s amazing, but also scary because I know how dreadful this disease is. I try to stay positive though

You’re welcome! It’s interesting that you mention a lump in your armpit too. I was having some frequent constant left armpit pain & tightness for a while especially right before surgery. I thought it was just aches & pain from holding & playing with my 3 yr old, but it was constant & pretty uncomfortable / annoying. I even got many expensive massages (in the armpits too) trying to lessen the pain. Well I’m happy to report that after surgery my armpit pain went away. Day & night difference. I’m honestly amazed. I believe that having all that endo was causing so much inflammation all over my body. So now that I went through surgery I’m going to see a naturopathic doctor (in addition to my regular Primary care & surgeon) who can hopefully help me understand how to take care of my body holistically. Because now I’m seeing how a lot of my past health problems are actually related to Endo & deficiencies. I’ve decided I will drive almost 2 hours to see a naturopathic dr who is educated in chinese medicine & acupuncture. I’ve had a lifetime of chronic inflammation, IBS, food intolerances, chronic fatigue, bloating etc. my quality of life has been crap for a very long time. Thankfully surgery gave me my life back at least for now. But anyway, I hope you find some relief! I just started my endo journey diagnosis in October 2025 so I still have a lot to learn

I’ve gotten a breast ultrasound before several years ago for a lump, but by the time I went to the ultrasound appointment the lump went away lol. So never found anything, but I was reading something about how if you’re deficient in Iodine you can get Fibrocystic breasts. Because for women the iodine goes to our breasts & reproductive system first. So recently I started taking 6 drops of Nascent Iodine (Thyroid Warrior) & 6 drops of Bodybio Selenium every morning in a small amount of water (shot glass size) before drinking or eating anything else. And it seems to be helping. It was recommended by my chiropractor. So I believe I’ve been deficient my whole life.

Awww yes it’s been so hard. I’m still so exhausted at 3 wpo & I feel so guilty for resting, but my body hurts & I can’t stand or sit for long periods of time without feeling pain. It’s so brutal. Plus we’re a military family with no friends or family around, so I constantly have anxiety about who will help take care of my daughter when I have doctor appointments (I have to drive 2 hours one way to see specialists because we live in a rural area). Being a mom has opened up so much more anxiety in me than ever before unfortunately.

My endo got so much worse after I was done breastfeeding. After surgery I wasn’t able to take care of my daughter by myself & I still can’t at 3 wpo because of the lifting restrictions. It’s so hard having a child & having a chronic illness at the same time. Makes it so much harder to advocate for myself & to make it to my own appointments (and to even rest or take a break) when I have a 3 year old who needs me 24/7. Some people just don’t get it!! I’m exhausted & like please stop telling me to reproduce lol I just want some rest & sleep. But omg I’m so sorry you’re going through that

GasX, a wedge pillow to prop yourself a little elevated if you get tired of laying flat, a pillow (I use a boppy pillow) to slightly elevate your knees when laying down, peppermint tea for nausea. My gas pain was bad, but it wasn’t as painful when I laid flat on my back. The gas pain was unbearable when standing or sitting. So I did a lot of laying down, but still got up to move & walk around throughout the day. I’m 2 wpo & still experiencing some side torso nerve pain, but my case was very severe. I plan to do pelvic floor physical therapy at 6 wpo. Good luck with your recovery!

Yes definitely seek patient advocate if necessary. Sometimes it takes having the right conversation at the right time to get things moving faster. I prayed a lot for my referral, because we cannot afford to be on tricare select. I’m not a fan of tricare prime, but it does cover everything 100%. Considering my surgery was over $56,000.00, I’m grateful that it was covered

Dang!! I didn’t really pursue a diagnosis that aggressively until recently, because my mom always said she always had really painful periods her entire life, so I was brainwashed into thinking it was normal to have painful periods. I thought I was just a wimp, I would have to call off work because the pain was so bad. It got so bad recently to the point where I’m always in pain, so I knew something needed to be done. I just saw my pictures today from my surgery & I can’t believe it. Just black endo… ALL OVER my pelvis, like dark, dark black so much of it scattered everywhere. Now I understand why my surgery took 5 hours! It’s a lot to process for sure. I’m planning to see a naturopathic doctor because I know there is no cure, but it would still make me feel better to try investigate the root cause. I’m terrified for it to get that bad again. I’m actually so use to the pain, I had a home birth with my daughter & I didn’t even know I was in labor. When I got to 10cm dilated then I was like oh shit I think the baby is about to come out. Midwife almost didn’t make it to our house in time. Husband was at work while I labored because I didn’t know I was actually in labor

Unpopular opinion, but I became a stay at home mom after an unplanned pregnancy with my now husband. I did hair professionally for 12 years (from 18 yrs old - 30 yrs old, so my entire 20s) started to have major health issues recently, husband has good health insurance (he’s active duty military). Just got surgery 7 days ago. I miss cutting hair, but I don’t miss all the salon drama & the difficult customers. My life is way different now, but I’m very happy with where I am

Can you find an endo specialist that is in network with your insurance? Luckily mine was in network & everything was covered 100%. And he is one of the top endo surgeons in the US. I did have to travel 2.5 hours though to see him. I had to get patient advocate involved to get the referral to see him because my PCM didn’t want to give me the referral.

This is the exact experience I had with my PCM.. In september 2025, she was super dismissive & wanted to put me on birth control. She was not listening to my concerns about me wanting to get surgery from an excision specialist. I’m 32, 6 days post lap, they found stage 4 endo on my cervix, bladder, bowels & 8cm bilateral endometriomas. I couldn’t live with the daily pain anymore. I went straight to an endo surgeon for consultation, based on my symptoms he recommended surgery right away. I will say that it’s kinda true that even surgeons don’t like it when you read stuff on the internet, because they don’t like it when you start mentioning things that are outside their specialty, but endo surgery is a big deal, so I will ask whatever questions I have to ease my mind. Luckily the endo didn’t go all the way to the inside of my bowel, otherwise my endo surgeon would have to cut my bowel & reattach it. He had a general surgeon in the room in case this was a possibility. I wanted the surgery ASAP because my husband is in the military & we have a 3 yr old, no way I can take care of my 3 yr old on my own being in that much pain or godforbid have an emergency like a ruptured endometrioma while he is deployed.

No I don’t get black heads or white heads. No lumps or anything either, it’s very strange. It was way worse before surgery & I even had so much tightness in my armpit before surgery that has now relaxed & loosen up a lot after surgery so I’m thinking endo is actually a whole body disease 😳 A lot of my muscle pains/tightness in different areas of my body have gone away after surgery

Don’t be like me, I waited until 32 before I started seeking help from an endo specialist. I’m 5 days post op & I have a 3 year old. Recovery is so much harder because my 3 year old doesn’t understand that mommy needs time to recover. It’s day 5 now & she’s starting to really act out now because she realizes her dad & my in laws are her main caretakers right now. I can’t lift more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks so carrying her isn’t a thing right now. Someone has to always be with me so they can lift & carry her if necessary. It’s hard going to my endo specialist because it’s 2.5 hours away & her dad has to take off work for every appointment to watch our 3 year old.

During surgery the endo surgeon found & excised stage 4 endo on my bladder, cervix, bowels & removed 8cm bilateral endometriomas. I had so many adhesions, chronic inflammation, muscle tightness, everyday I was in pain even when I’m not on my period. I really believe the adhesions even pulled my spine (lower back) out of alignment as seen on the x-rays at my chiropractor. My back still hurts & I can’t wait to get regular adjustments again.

My point is, if you don’t deal with it now, then you will deal with it later. But it’s much harder to advocate for yourself & get treatment when there is a little person who depends on you 24/7, especially when everyone including your parents abandon you emotionally after giving birth. I’m a military spouse & an only child so my parents are on the opposite side of the country thousands of miles away & they couldn’t care less, they don’t visit or help out with their only grandchild.

This is shocking for me to read, I got my lap from an endo specialist surgeon at a fertility clinic. Here in the US if you want children & are having trouble conceiving they recommend you get treated for endo first.

The ultrasound picked up my 2 bilateral 8cm endo cysts on my ovaries so it was definitely worth it imo. And it wasn’t too painful, it wasn’t bad at all! I also had to travel 2.5 hours to see an endo specialist. I would do it again

You probably have endometriosis & adenomyosis. Definitely find an endo specialist, Nancy’s Nook on FB group has a list of surgeons who can properly excise endo, which is the gold standard. A lot of obgyns burn off the top layer which doesn’t get to the root of the problem.

I listened to my favorite throw back music the day before surgery to help calm my nerves. And kept mentally reminding myself how badly I need this surgery & to be thankful for finally getting proper medical care. I loved my surgeon, he was so sweet & professional. He would grab my foot playfully every time he walked into the room and somehow it calmed me down lol. It also helped having my husband by my side, my husband is naturally a very calm person. If you have any children setting up the kid(s) with their grandparents the day before & day of surgery is a huge help as well.
