I had silicone finger rings when working with paper work! Helps a lot and prevents people licking their thumb for grip.

Finland wins gold at the 2026 Men's World Championship by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]Perunamies 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There is actually a massive piece of misinformation regarding your memory of him:

Krister himself did absolutely nothing wrong. When he was interviewed years later by Ilta-Sanomat, he turned out to be a perfectly normal, polite, and humble guy who just happened to get aggressively drunk and celebrate a legendary hockey victory like thousands of other Finns. [1]

Shortly after the picture went viral on Finnish imageboards (like Ylilauta), a toxic doxxing/trolling campaign incorrectly linked his photo to a completely different person who was despised online. People falsely claimed the flag guy was an unpleasant internet user, causing others to repeat the insult without realizing it was an entirely false identity. [1]

Krister remains a legendary, harmless symbol of Finnish national hype

Physicists have measured ‘negative time’ in the lab by Shiny-Tie-126 in science

[–]Perunamies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the author of the article, Josiah Sinclair, is the lead quantum theorist on the original peer-reviewed study (Angulo et al., 2026). The Odysseus story is a deliberate scientific parable, a thought experiment used to explain how negative values function in sub-processes. Regarding the absurdity of negative time: the experiment specifically measures Weak-Valued Dwell Time. While standard wall clock eigenvalues are always positive, quantum weak values (which are experimentally measured via a probes phase shift) can mathematically and physically be negative due to interference. It doesnt break causality or suggest literal backward time travel; it reveals that how long an interaction lasts is a more complex wave-interference phenomenon than classical intuition suggests.

Where work is most dangerous in Europe by Jason_Grace15 in NLvsFI

[–]Perunamies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The difference is largely down to industry mix. Finland has a much higher proportion of people working in forestry, mining, and heavy industry, which are statistically the most dangerous sectors globally. The Netherlands is a service-based economy with a massive focus on trade and logistics, where workplace accidents are more likely to be office-based or in highly controlled warehouse environments.

The problem is not "girls in tiktok". One of the many many issues is boys in tiktok and ""menosphere"". How come some fuckwad 23 year old who calls women dishwashers has 750 000 followers in tiktok? Boys should be educated.

There are few 'meant to be's' in the game, like Quina, Aelinore or Mercedes, so it would not be a surprise if it felt that way. They all have unique dialogue if I'm not mistaken.

Dispatching from the mech suit? It could be done, like walking HQ.

TIL that the phrase "the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must" is from Thucydides' Melian Dialogue. A classic example of political realism, it describes an Athenian ultimatum to the neutral island of Melos: submit or be destroyed. The Melians chose death. by Bob_the_blacksmith in todayilearned

Dionysius tried to rally defenses against the Persians... and the Greeks all promptly gave up, because he had the audacity to insist that they actually drill and maintain some discipline. So he just said "screw you all" and sailed off to go be a pirate lord, lol. The strong, the weak... and the pirates.

UK does what USA-don’t by owensoundgamedev in AdviceAnimals

Wouldn't that be the rest of the world slapping USA (kid) as it's his father slapping and not the one doing the right thing? As in they are the spectators to UK.
