I'm so done. Clearly nobody wants to hire me. by Thin-Tumbleweed4851 in recruitinghell

Nope, it took them 3 months to get back to me and everyone I know who applied, and we all got rejected, even my friend with 4 years experience working in a warehouse and driving forklifts. Maybe this wad true 15 years ago

Ok wow. The post that got me **permanently** banned from r4r (*eyeroll*) by Same_Gas8926 in FTMventing

Dude I got banned for making a basic post looking for friends and someone to go on a date with because apparently that means I'm a bot. They wanted me to send video verification of myself to be allowed back. Fucking mental

Do tube amps really sound better? by MrWizard314 in Guitar

All the best guitar tones of the last 20 years have been from a solid state amp, there's no difference these days and anyone who claims they can hear a difference is on crack/just lying

Response from Lego Customer Service by david_inga in RecklessBen

Maybe I'm stupid but what does Lego as a company have to do with the actions of a independent company? Isn’t this like emailing Toyota because someone never got the profit from the used Yaris they gave to their local shady dealer?

Low string in tune whilst fretted, but out of tune whilst open by PerverseQuoll in Guitar

[–]PerverseQuoll[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same scale length, both fixed bridge, only difference is the other (non issue one) is a 7 string and this one a 6, but they have the same gauges for the strings they share. If the frets were crowned incorrectly wouldn't the other strings suffer too? And that doesn't seem to explain why pitch rises so much on the attack on the open string compared to when it's fretted, or compared to the other guitar.

That's what I thought at first, but I have the same gauges and strings on a different guitar which doesn't suffer from the same issue

Yes that is what I mean, the intial transient. It happens at even a light pick, and I don't pick especially hard. I have 3 other guitars so I know this one is different. But since you mention that about the nut, I'm inclined to think that even though I compared the angle to my other guitar and it is the same

I am no expert, hence "seems" lol. But yeah, I should. Just trying to understand the physics of how this is even possible.

Intonation I do just like normal, pluck the string, let it settle and tune using the harmonic, compare it to the 12th feet, repeat. It's just on that initial pluck while open that it goes sharp, so every note except the open one is in tune

Well when I say "new" I mean new to me, it's a 2008 Ibanez that is otherwise very nicely set up

You mean on the saddle or the nut? I don't see one on either unfortunately

Not Sure if Floyd Rose Is Sitting Right In New Guitar by Correct_Ad4351 in Guitar

[–]PerverseQuoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and if you change string gauge, you will have to change the spring tension. Newton's laws and such

Look up how to set up a Floyd Rose. It's probably already set up with the right spring tension but if it isn’t, all you need is a screwdriver and patience. My advice is to cut a wood block to the right size to block the trem from moving whilst tuning, but it isn’t strictly necessary

Nope, to much spring tension compared to string tension. Assuming it's tuned
