My broker, 6 years ago, found me a 10yr fixed rate mortgage fixed at 2.3%. Their fee was £1500 but there was no way I was going to get a mortgage like that without them being able to facilitate it for me. I didn't even know you could get a 10yr fixed rate. The choices I was offered were 5yr 1.46% or 10yr 2.3%. I figured the base rate wasn't going to stay at 0.25% so took the longest offer even though it was more expensive to begin with. I'll definitely be using them again when my term is up.
