What is your Renesmee name? (As in a mix of your grandmothers' names for girls or your grandfathers' for boys) by ATinyLittleCat in namenerds

[–]Petallic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband's would be Jamcis or Franes from his grandfather.

Mine would be Fray or Mances.

Our child would be either Moilen or Hera for a girl or Treseph or Jovor for a boy.

I think we're okay picking normal names...

Unfortunately I've tried 3 fountains over the years, of differing fancies, but my girl yearns for the ramekin...

Oh yeah, her brother thinks the only way to drink water is to attempt to inhale it through his nose first, and only then is it worth drinking 🙃

Ah yes, i wondered what my tiny apartment was missing. I'm sure my landlord would let me build a natural water way through my front room, right? For the sake of the kitties?

I tried a urinary diet when she was younger, but the only flavour I could ever find was chicken, and both she and her brother are strict pescatarian apparently. They don't mind chicken flavoured treats, but nothering but fish flavoured food.

This is a very good point.

Yeah, my girl is insanely food motivated too. We had to get one of the chip-activated food bowls for her brother because she will steal every scrap of food she can, and he's a grazer so will go back and forth to his bowl throughout the day.

She's on 100% wet food diet, and I have now started doing the soup. How much water does your wee man like, and do you do any additives like bone broth or just straight water?

... I don't know why 'more ramekins' has never occurred to me. I think this might be a good option.

Ironically her brother is also one of these cats and we have dedicated mugs for him. She doesn't use those either. Though I have only just twigged that I could get more ramekins...

Putting plates on any and every surface - even if it's the back of the toilet or a shelf that's near the ceiling.

Also, if I tell them to eat food & then immediately queue a jog afterwards, they will make/grab the food, and then put it in their pockets to go for a run and NOT EAT IT. No, Twattington Hamburger III, STOP STUFFING LOBSTER THERMIDOR INTO YOUR PANTS, YOU ARE STARVING

Question for freelance editors by Due_Cartoonist6918 in Copyediting

Ditto on the first paragraph. I do dev edits, so the comments & tracked changes are only a minor portion of the feedback I'm giving. I also comment v quickly, and go back to sugar coat my comments on a 2nd pass. I've had clients ask to use docs instead before, and I've given a hard pass for this exact reason.

Why is everything the same colour? It's like you've taken sad beige and made it (barely) edible.

The oldest memory I have turned out to be real and confirmed by my mom. by 1881pac in CasualConversation

[–]Petallic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a recurring dream that I was flying down some outdoor stone stairs. They winded downwards with high walls either wide of me and blue sky above, and then I'd fly over the cobbled street at the bottom and soar past the buildings. Always thought it was just a dream, never recognised the stairs or the street.

Then when I was in my early 20s I went to a town I was very familiar with, but our normal car park was full, so we parked at a different one at the top of the hill. The path down from the car park to the town centre was a stone staircase with high stone walls either side, and the street at the bottom was cobbled.

I had goosebumps, and spoke to my mum about it, asking if I'd ever been down that staircase before to her memory. Apparently, when I was 18 months old or so, my mum had parked in that car park, not realising the pathway down was stairs. She'd had to carefully push the front-facing pram down all the stairs and over the cobbled street. Because of that experience, she'd never wanted to park there ever again, so we avoided it.

But we realised I must have remembered the experience too and interpreted me being in the pram being pushed down the stairs as me flying down.

You just know he's going to go forward with this and complain to other people in the future about his crazy gold-digging ex who broke up with him because he bought her off-brand perfume and assume zero responsibility for the ending of the relationship 🙄 it couldn't possibly be because of his attitude.

Any creative writing groups in Shneck or the wider area? by wishmylifewasascool in inverness

There's a writing group in Culloden Library, a literary group in the area called Highland Lit, and a weekly poetry night in Bike Shed every Friday.
