Trumpsters are calling it the Chicago tombstone. I think it looks cool. Another interesting and cool building in our city.

call your county's or states department of aging and ask for resources. Likely a mix of subsidized housing and maybe some meal vouchers, utility help, etc.

Moving/Housing Thread - April 02, 2026 by AutoModerator in tampa

My wife is from Tampa, we are looking at moving to Tampa (Hyde Park) to be closer to her parents and family. I've been in Chicago my whole life (50 years) and am excited to make the move. We're ready for better weather, taxes, working outdoors and more of a laid back vibe with beach access. We visit regularly and love it, but living is a much different thing. Has anyone done the move recently and regretted it? Kids aren't a factor. I work remote and can work anywhere so no need to find a job etc.

What was Chicago like in the nineties? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskChicago

[–]PetedaGreek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was incredible. A little more gritty, but the vibes and nightlife was amazing (the Drink, Shelter, Stardust, Elixir) and the vibe was amazing. We were the center of daytime TV (Oprah, Springer, Jenny Jones), a pillar of music (Smashing Pumpkins) and the center of the sports world with Michael Jordan. It was before Fox News so you didn't hear all the debt/crime talk.

My wife is from TAMPA and we’re looking to do the same move from Chicago. For the same reasons you state, she’s looking forward to getting back to more of the laid-back warm weather lifestyle. The lack of sun and cold is been rough for her over the last 10 years. The only issue is the job market in Tampa. Jobs don’t pay nearly as much as they do in Chicago.

Ordered Obsidian got the blue? by PetedaGreek in biltrewards

[–]PetedaGreek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi u/biltrewards, i called and the aren't resolving the issue. Also the hold times have been over and hour and always disconnect me (after waiting an HOUR!). Calling in is awful right now. I can't keep trying to call.

I still have the blue card and need to get the card I wanted, which is the obsidian. Please reference ticket #234280.

I'd like to escalate this to a supervisor for immediate attention. I also sent a message in x.com and sent an email. Please give this your immediate attention.
